So I'm getting ready for my tubing to arrive. I wanted to mount my tube notcher on a stand but had issues drilling into the garage floor.

after almost bending a concrete drill bit i decided to not have a stand stiking out in the middle of the garage and mount the notcher on my welding table. using the stand, i cut 2 8" pieces of square tubing. Nice saw huh T-Man?

then welded the notcher mount to the 2 pieces, then welded the pieces to my table.

Something else i noticed....what's wrong with this picture?

Obvious...the rods I'm using for the shocks have bent. this is after only riding this thing 3 times without any bumps or jumps! Hey Big Wave...what do I do???

Well i know how the original vehicle does it, but i'm deciding to take Dave's route...on a smaller scale.

putting these additional brakets on both sides of the shocks. That should work.

The racecar guy that's bending the tubing for me has a plasma cutter...i'm bringing this over with the hopes of getting it cut.

Conrad, nice motor! Well your kart should move pretty good with a 14 hp. You have seen how mind moves. The motor is only a 9.2 hp. The motors name is a HOWHIT, I call it a how what! Sorry I didn't get back to you on the weight of my kart. The kart's weight stock is 528 lbs. Man, I weighted the extensions! They weighted 26 lbs a piece!! I bet the kart weights a good 700 lbs now with the duellys and the motor pulls fine. I think you will have know problem with the 14 hp.

Hey Conrad, I'm liking what I see. You could get more movement on the axle with a longer shock mount. Don't be afraid to cantilever that shock mount. The extra length will allow less movement on the coils. Another suggestion is to put the shock brackets as close to the shock end mounts. And are those grade 8 bolts? I don't think so....hehehehe hey here's a pic of my mount if you needed to see it. Conrad your project is looking real good.....BWD

OH YA....when you start building your oun mounts and brackets and tables that will be used for other machines and equipment that will in turn be used to perform an efficient job....that is when the rookie brakes out of the shell and starts becoming confident of his talent....and becomes more serious. You ARE DOING GREAT.

here's my Magneto protractor giving me my angle

only the RYOBI saw (as T-Man knows) stops at 45 or 50 degrees. I'm going to "freehand" these angle cuts with the hand grinder/cutoff blade.
