well yesterday I went out and reiforced the center of the front face and then cut out the windows ...its a little set back then what I wanted it to be but it works and looks all right...

I think today I'm going to start on the top ...this is going to take me about two or three days because I want to reinforce this pritty good, because I know that people are going to want to put there weight on it to get in/out....

I realized I didn't have enough steel but I did start on it...I took a 1x1 angle iron and measured up one side of the cut out and then marked the angle iron in 1" increments, then took it to the chop saw and cut down one side of the iron, brought it back over to the top and with a vice grips and the sure power and strength of my python arms (ok maybe more like gardener snake) I got it into place...

This last picture shows a 1" piece of flat stock, I welded this to the cut sections...

post more tomorrow when I go get more steel..

Well today I went out and started to build the frame for the top, this is all done with 1x1 angle iron... I placed braceing along the long bend...

then I did some cross-overs to make it solid...

i then took the frame and had to figure out a way to hold it in place so I could measure and cut the steel that would hold it on ...so I grabed the one thing that has come in SO HANDY when it comes to holding this sheet metal it place, my neodymium magnets ...In this next picture I have one magnet holding all this angle iron up , its under the small lip on the front face panel and the blue-gray painted steel in back is just keeping everything level..

then I measured out the 4 corners cut the steel and welded....

then I grabed some scraps and made the top vizers for the front windows...

Also I was woundering if you or any one has ever seen pictures of those military veh. that were driven in (Aliens) the second movie. I would realy like to see those.

We (my sweetie and I) are going to be flying to Newark, NJ for a transfer to be surrogate parents (we will be carring someone elses baby) Its something that we have been working on for about a year and a half. If I have access to a computer I'll let you all know how things are going.
