conrad that is COOL...I went and looked at that page ..wow.

the jackshaft is the set-up that you have also on the rear of the old kart its the extra shaft that the large part of your clutch/torque converter is connected to.

yep...i knew what the jackshaft was....i thought you had some trick to increase the torque...

Anyway i ran into my first real design snag...what's wrong with this picture?

in a nut shell....the way this is attached to the left and right rods (bottom of the rods) a left turn makes the wheels go right and a right turn goes left. Oops.

the rod brackets closest to the R&P have to be positioned on the TOP of the rod and not down.

 like this...

THANK GOD I only tacked welded and didn't finish the welds....Fixing tonight

Here's my brake & gas pedal...straight off the blaster...(the "gas pedal" is the clutch which I'm sure most of you knew)

I spent alot of time on the brakes. I want to make sure I'll be able to stop this thing.

Ok so I have the steering linkage done, brakes, gas, seat, installed new drive belt. Next, steering mount.

When i saw this mounted I realized this will be my little dashboard.

Centered and welded on
