you may be able to use that slack for your advantage, perhaps push a tensioner next to one of the slacked sides, and if you ever need to remove a chain (for whatever reason) you could simply remove the tensioner, and remove the chain with (probably) never messing with the master link.

Just a suggestion hope it helps

Good call, Shag! I was wondering how hard it would be for him to put an adjustable tension device in there... Would be a relatively simple, yet profoundly useful addition!

yep I was thinking of that today so I went around on the net and I couldent find anything that would have helped, the tension sprockets that I came across were all to big (2 to 2 1/2" in die. for #41 chain so I just added the 1/8 steel under the jackshaft box and that seems to do the trick.

I also used a piece of angle iron to set and place the brake caliper ...man that was a pain. The white fabric that you see in this picture is called Spectra fabric..its used in alot of stuff from wind sails to bulletproof vests..I use it to cover upthings/parts when I'm welding next to them (its heat tolerance is awesome)

man I am running out of room fast...I even moved a bunch of stuff out of the way..man!

I just got my front hubs in today...

these are the things that I plan on using to connect the rear to the mid frame, there dampeners that (normally )go on a Harley front forks...

if anyone has any better ideas on how I should join these two please post a picture.

I think those dampeners are a good way to go, they're nice and simple.

Nice to see you moving right along on your build. So by monday we should be seeing some body panels right?

Man I wish, but befor I get into the panels I want to do the steering, pedals, and a few other things. plus the weather has droped about 20 deg. here in the past 3 days. Now if I was doing big stuff I wouldnt have a problem because I would be moving around a lot more but when it comes to doing little stuff where I'm sitting in one spot well thats when I start to get cold.

I was looking at your build last night and you are coming along great also.

has anyone heard from conrad at all??

So I went out today and put this spring on the break..

after that I realised that I had a piece of 18 g sheet metal that was sitting behind a bunch of cardboard so I pulled it out and took some measurements and started to cut with my new sheet metal cutter ...what a pain that was...

I placed the sheet on the under side of the kart, marked the bracing, pulled it off, drilled some holes, put it back on , and welded.

and this is what it looks like...fliped over

I hit a snag ...I started to to weld the axle brackets on today and the moment I made an arc the welder shut down ...when I pull the triger the relay clicks on and I get power but the thing wont engage the wire ...I checked the fuse and it doesnt look like any of the resisters or diods are burnt..AAAAAAAA HHEELLPP
