I was able to get some work done this weekend. First my latest plan is to build the body out of metal and rivet it together. So I thought that I'd mock up half of the car with my cardboard and then I can measure all the panels to build them out of sheet metal and of course all the measurements will transfer to the other side so I don't need to mock that up. Also by only mocking up half of it I save a lot of space in my garage.

I like that Tim is building on a platform and I happened to have a 4'x8' platform I had left over from a job. I was able to put wheels on it and get to work.

Great work Chilebean! How many tumblers are you building? This build, is this the 85% build or is this the full scale build.

Terry, i'm just building the 85% one. Full size would be cool but then I couldn't drive it, and that's my goal here to make a driver

Looking Good!!!

Yeah the movable platform is quite nice to push things off to the side when you are done working with them.  Definately worth the investment

BTW.. cool Ironman chest piece

Thanks guys It's been very warm here this past week so I was able to get some evening work done. Lots of tweaking and a few new parts. I hope to be done with the cardboard by the end of the weekend. Here are a couple quick pics this morning. I'll roll it to the other side of the garage when I'm done to get a better view.

I've found that their is just no room to have front and rear seats and have the front suspension the way I had designed it so I've gone to a leaf front setup. I like that some of the stresses will be directed to the center, and it will give more "stuff" detail in the front

that's just a rough approximation of the suspension setup.
