Awesome models Terry, shows you got the bug when it comes to the batmobile .

Ok guys, got some good news, and some 'WHAT WAS HE THINKING!?" news.    I have the templates now sitting at my house for the go cart i have been planning to build all along.    I've tried to go ahead and have those handy so when i finally get moved in, i'll have something to work on when its too cold outside to be building on my Camaro or my wife's truck, etc.    (Jack if your reading this thats why i havent had a chance to ship out your stuff just yet, moving is a hassle!)

Now for the What was he thinking! news.   I changed things a bit, and UPSCALED the Tumbler, it is now a 2/3rds scale Tumbler!!!!!   Measuring in at 10 foot 4" long, 3 foot 6" tall and 6 foot 5" wide, this beast can no longer be called a go-cart, more like a Dune Buggy.    A few other changes is that it now can seat two 7-10 yr old kids in the driver and passenger seat, placed where the real tumbler has its seats.   OR  you could slide those two seats back, and snap in an Adult single seat right behind the nose of the Tumbler, and make it a temporary 3 seater, with gas and brake controls in the nose of the buggy, allowing an adult to safely drive around 2 children if they are not of age to control the machine themselves.     I feel this change will be more costly, BUT well worth it in the end!

psshsh, i wish i could afford such a thing, heck i've raised the bar so much on this dune buggy that the rear tires are going to be about $150 a piece.  I told my wife and all she said was,  "oh i thought they were going to be expensive"  I still havent found a decent pair of tires for the fronts, but it would be nice to find a set that were street legal just for kicks.

My wife is pushing hard for me to start up the items for our "dark knight" themed bedroom.   THAT will cause me to build a full scale Tumbler, with an opening top for a bed, the Joker's Semi truck (entertainment stand) and a full scale Batpod (display prop)   as well as an "ejected front end" of the Tumbler with a couch built inbetween the two front forks.    And all around the room will be a mural painted to look like parts of gotham city.

She wanted something Gothic, i wanted to express my creativity, we clashed and this is what came out, a Dark Kight Themed Bedroom   All in due time

One and a half updates, I am going to start cutting out Templates for Eric's Dune Buggy this afternoon and work on in to the weekend doing the same, considering the size of this project, i dont see me getting all of the templates done in one weekend, but i am sure as hell going to try!   I need to go to Home Depot and pick up a few items for this afternoon.   My plan is to mock up the cabin out of 2x2" sticks of wood, cover it with the cabin template using the wood for ridgidness, then build the other panels in order, as my paper model has taught me.   I'll take pictures as far as which panel i applied first, for you guys who have a copy of my templates, and also point out the two-three mistakes i found in my panels as well.

the Half update is that i tried to ship out the 1/6th paper model today and they wanted $30 bucks for shipping, the box weighs at most 2lbs, IF THAT!  i have not even $15 in the model, so Jack i still dont have the cash, but i'll get it to you just as soon as i do!  Its atleast packed safely in a box now (tho its damaged, dont know why i took so much care to save a damaged item, weird)

lol, Hey Dave, sadly no garage door, i told my wife that now that we are renting a cheap trailer (gotta save money somehow in these hard times) that if i push hard enough the wall behind the Tumbler would open up and i could just pull it outside that way. She just smacked me on the chest and went back to cleaning house. Not sure why lol.

Honestly my plans is to build up the full body, then reinforce each individual panel with ribs on the backside, then remove them one by one, take them outside and fiberglass over them, pull them off the cardboard, and clean them up. I might do molds, but not quite sure at this stage. Once all the panels are done, the cabin will be broke back down, taken outside, reassembled and then fiberglassed over. Its a long tedious process, but i think it will work well in the long run.

OH, before i forget, it doesnt look that big in the pictures, but believe it or not my 6 foot self will fit perfect, so i wont have to do the 3 seat idea like i thought. Just two seats, driver and passenger will work just fine. Now i will just have to figure out what size engine i will be using. hmmm.
