Conrad, you may check and see if those ball joints are even replaceable, alot of the sport quads aren't.  If they are, a ball joint press could press it our without removing the a-arm. Its looking sweet!!! I love the rear wheels!!

Hey Dave..thanks!

Here's the finished welded front arm assembly. I definitely won't win any awards for asthetics, but I'm happy with the welds. and i did recess some of the plates in between the tubing for additional bracing. that took alot of grinding.

So on with the butchering. I cut the A-Arms and, not unlike the A-Team building with whatever's around, I'll use some square tubing to bolt the lower arms on.

I love it when a plan comes together.

So are you dressing like Mr.T and playing the A-Team theme song as you build? you could play some eye of the tiger too.

ooohhh Hey Conrad I like the webbing....looks mean and strong....Now is the axle going to move up and down together and then the upper and lower control arms are going to move up and down? Is that redundant? I'm a little dense so keep the explaination simple.    I love the look of you Pummeler.......hahaha....BWD

I love it but I too was wondering why that a-arms since it pivots at your firewall just like the real car....

Hey Jack, in talking to Conrad I was under the impression that the control arms would move up and down lke the original but with one crucial difference in that they would be connected together. Being connected would probably be alright on a go cart ,but on a full size vehicle it could flip you over or at the very least break apart and kill all the people onboard.   hehehe... The independent suspension is the way to go.....But on a go cart it probably ok [insert disclaimer].....But then the upper and lower control arms in addition to the front control arms? hummm what is going on in Conrads head?. Lets stay tuned to our bat channel and wait for the master fabricator himself to explain this......Conrad? Where are you? Your not sleeping again are you? Man you do this like every night...........BWD 4:30 am in Cali

I think what Conrad is doing is that he is using the ATV's a-frames for turnability reasons only.   They are not special parts, so they cut cost for his build,  they wont necessarily be part of the suspension.   The ends of the A-arms will be welded solid on top of the front forks, and bolted to the bottom, therefore, if a ball joint ever was to go out in those 30 foot jumps he will be making, he could easily unbolt the bottom, and let the system "hang", replace the broken part, and re-assymble (stephanie )   Therefore, the forks themselves will be the only suspension point of the system, at the firewall.
