No I meant, is the XJ8 a mid-to-late-1990s model? Sorry for the confusion.

Also, were you talking about a post-Ford buyout model? I've read and heard the post-buyout models have better engines.

HI RYAN

YES TO BOTH OF YOUR QUESTIONS, BUT IT
REALLY DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU WANT TO
CHANGE THE DRIVE TRAIN. AN 80s MODEL
WOULD ALSO WORK FINE TOO.

Matt -- Do you get asked about the car much? I mean, I know its only moderately customized at this point but it'd still catch my attention enough to ask the owner about it.

No one locally has ever made THE CAR connection, but someone always comments on its size or whether or not I'm gonna pimp it out. I find that teenagers like it best. It's really fun to drive around.

...And Tony, ya better watch out! I may show up at your door on one of these very cold Northeast mornings, for a grand tour of California Our difference in weather is completely unfair!! It's gotta be nice having motorcycle weather everyday

Has anybody ever contacted the guy over in Britain who made a Car replica (below)? Is he on the internet?

I keep getting this bullshit error when I try to post...

I contacted the girl who originally posted the pics. She said the pic was taken at a car show in Bromley, UK...but she had no idea who owns it or where it is from. She has my email, and said if she ever saw it again, she'd try to get more info.

Matt - Good times. I've seen that car before, I think it was on your website. Or maybe that one website featuring John Dodd's "Beast"? Was that your site?

The pics you're thinking of came from that site with Dodd's Beast. I wish I knew what happened to it. Good thing is, I saved all the photos of THE CAR replicas from his site, but they're on my other computer which is not hooked up at the moment. Once I retreive those pics, I'll update my MySpace page with them. The replica in the pic is pretty nice, I'd love to get a hold of the owner.

Wow! I think this one is the best I've seen so far, Tony...thanks again for sharing It's amazing how different they all look...some ride higher, while others look wider. Very cool and interesting photo! Now you said at least one of these was a Thunderbird-based build? My guess is the third one.

HEY MATT,
I THINK THE MIDDLE CAR IS THE HERO CAR. I THINK THAT A TBIRD WAS USED 75 OR 1976.
I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT YEAR.
I FORGOT WHEN THE MOVIE WAS MADE.
I STILL HAVE TO REALLY FIND THE WHOLE SCOOP ON THOSE CARS. I KNOW THAT SOME OF THE PEOPLE ARE NOT ALIVE ANYMORE.
RYAN,
THE PETERSON MUSEUM HAS A COUPLE OF DELAHAYS IN THE VAULT. IF YOU WANT THE NEXT TIME I AM THERE I CAN TAKE SOME PHOTOS OF THEM FOR YOU AND POST THEM ON THE SITE FOR YOU.
