Rage; Yes, I hope the new DVD has some good extra features on it, can't wait!

I'm going to queue it on Netflix if they get it, too. I'm doubting they'll get it within the first 6 - 9 months, though...they're pretty slow about that kind of thing. If its not a new release, they drag their feet. It would be COOL to get a commentary from George Barris (while he's still with us) and/or Elliot Silverstein, and the stunt driver, whos name slips my mind. James Brolin would be a good one too but I'm not sure how much he knows about the car itself, per se...

Tony -- Good picture of the car with the dust behind it. I've never seen that one before!

BTW, Matt, I don't think I asked this before, but if you modified your Lincoln into a replica of The Car, would you retain it as a 4-door or would you shorten it down to 2 doors? It seems like you'd be making the car about 6" shorter if you turned it into a coupe to make it look like The Car. That's just a visual guestimate.

Hey Tony, yep Ron is a good guy and Jay's best friend.  Hey please make sure you and the Barris crew stop by the GNRS HOF induction Saturday and tell Jay congrats.  I know Jay would really appreciate it.  Jay, his family, and fiends like me are so very excited about the honor.  Like you said it was a long time coming.

Oh and Hey Tony.... Thanks again for joining.  You have created a new spark of interest!

Now if we could just teash you how to unlock the CAPs.

Hi Rage...as much as I want to do an exact replica of The Car, the game plan for now is to start playing around with my '79. I do not have half the skill that most on this board have in building any car. This is why I started hanging around here. The education I am getting from every member of this board is priceless. I also have no experience in using sheetmetal, and limited experience in fiberglassing. So, come Spring I will be disassembling much of the '79. I would like to chop the roof about 3 inches, keep it 4 door, but suicide the rear doors, and build up a fiberglass body for a The Car-inspired look. This way, I can learn something as I go, and while doing so, save up some cash to have the have a more acurate replica built later.

...and Tony, where are you finding all these pics...thanks again, they are great!

That looks outstanding! Pomona is only fifteen minutes from me. I should go down there and hang out, and hopefully catch a glimpse of cars being moved in and out.
