I've been working on this whenever I could grab a couple hours for a couple months now. It's far from done but I thought posting the progress might get me working harder. It's not an exact replica. I 'm changeing some stuff to make it more streetable. If I were to build a real one I would wan't to drive it, a lot!

It may look like I'm sampling from BWD's rumbler a lot, but I actually had some simmilar ideas before I found this board. i.e. 3 piece windshield, rear window and wider front track width. I had been going back and forth between front or rear engine and have to agree with BWD that front is better. I also narrowed the shields that go across the windshield.

I'll post more pictures later, my computer is working on work right now

if this thread is in the wrong place go ahead and move it.

Hey Chilebean, I like what you're doing. I was just about to post mine and saw your thread. So I'll add to it. Im doing mine in Rhino CAD. What software are you using?

Batmobile

I need more pictures....can anyone help? Im trying to make it as close to the real Tumbler as possible. I set the rear wheel rim to 16 1/2 x 12 inch as Bob suggested in one of his posts and have been using pics for references. So its all to scale.... I hope.

Hey Spidey please do create a new thread (Spidey4Fun's 3D Tumbler) and post away.  You can find tons of pictures right here on CLTC in the image database.

Oh and Chile your work looks great.  I really love that you included the under structure.

Spidey, I'm useing 3D Studio Max. And I'm building to scale in decimal inches so I can measure all the parts when I'm done and scale them appropriately for a real build.

Hey Chilibean, I guess like minds think the same because I have been contemplating modifying my Rumbler to have a set of gullwing doors. I had them on a DeLorean I owned and loved the accessability...... I have been thinking about it since I started the Rumbler and I knew I would have to get the chassis pretty much done before it ould be incorporated. There's a hinge mechanism that fits inside a pipe and my idea was to  run two pipes straight down the middle of the roof for strength then double up the tubing arount the proposed opening then cut the door out and slide the hinges into the tubing. I even kept the heavy duty shock dampeners from the Camaro's rear lid. Similar to the Delorean we could use a torque tensioner bar to keep the door open and simply pull it down with a handle like the Delorean's door.....BWD
