Say, BatGod...from your professional point of view, what is the sense in making a 7/8 scale model to film instead of a full-scale model? Does that 1/8 less make any difference at all in filming? I could understand a 1/8 size model. It would obviously be cheaper and quicker to build, but not 7/8...I just don't get it...

THAT... was a good one Tim! I'm still cracking up while I'm typing. As for the scale question... My first thoughts is that it's possible, production at Pinewood already HAD an allyway set piece handy. I saw a miniature sewer set piece (about 3 foot wide and about 5 foot tall) complete with waterproof "waterway" along the bottom the last time I was there walking the backlot. They might have decided to scale it down to match the set. Another theory is that this missile was used under some sort of mocked up 89 roller that we've never seen and they had to scale it down to get the dimensions right on the roller and still have the missile fit underneith. I asked Silent Bob, he didn't know. Only told me the story about the cable and the pickup truck that towed it. I love the fact that the train assemblies on the side are one huge springloaded piece. You just swing it out on it's hinge to get access to the wheels. [Just went hunting through the files for the closeup... not scanned... found this though] [[CORRECTION!!! Just found the Batmissile folder. LOTS of pics!]] All in all, it's a cool piece. But Silent Bob wanted 25 grand for it back in the day and there was no hope of making it into something you could drive. He told me he sold it to a place in Tucson called "Tornado's". Never been there, but others have told me they have. Jay still had the molds, and he's since hooked up with the Bat man in Kentucky. The museum car at the top of this thread could be the one Silent Bob got from Jay or a clone. Can't tell from the pics. I'll have to visit one day. G'nite all! Takin' the sis and her kids to the Bronx Zoo tomorrow. Need sleep if I'm gonna chase rugrats all morning.

BatGod - Great info. Thanks. I'd love to see any other pics you have. I love the Batmissile. It's totally absurd but I think it's great.

Let's start the "I can spot all the differences!" game. In any case, We definately have proof that there are at least 2 out there. My estimate is twice that.

The turbine is different and there's no visible Bat-hubs on the England one. The canopy scoop and the windows look different. What else?

Turbine housing set further back, no central support in the canopy window, upper scoop is deeper and not covered, front end looks more pointed (sharper), turbine intake bullet is shorter, and not 'droopy' on either car! All in all, I'm surprized that theres lots of differences between these and an 89 with the sides 'blown off'. It is meant to be the same car, isn't it?
