I talked to Eric last night he said that when He was sitting in the car he noticed that the glass was held in place with small plain nuts and washers.

Yes cheap fiberglass does shrink during the curing process, Vinylester resin has very little shrinkage and Epoxy resin has even less. Once fully cured the shrinkage is negligible, all things shrink and expand with temperature changes. The Black Bird expands by several feet while in flight do to the high heat at Mach speeds.

I think he must have been in one of the replicas.  That's how they are done.  You could have Eric provid proof.  Otherwise the pictures in post 1 speak for themselves, they are screws.

Moore car.  Strange how only there are only a few bolts holding it in while all the other holes are empty.

glass is at least 1/4" think.

Eric sent me a CD full of pictures of the #1 car with him sitting in it. They were all shot with a low resolution digital camera and not very good on the close ups. The car is definitely the #1 car. It even shows the overhead consoles in the top inside of the canopy.

He did tell me that the canopy was held together with screws and small plain nuts with washers.

Unfortunatly mine won't be movie exact. I'm moulding two 7" wireless monitors into the interior roof of the canopy instead of external rear view mirrors. It's the little mod's I want that will change it slightly.

Kevin, you should know by now that words without pictures are pointless.  Post some pictures.

Here the problem with what you are saying.  If Eric sat in the #1 and the #1 was held in by nuts then what are the 2 cars that Dave photographed?  Those appear to be held in by some sort of screw.  So post a picture even if it is low res we should be able to confirm it to be the #1.

Remember we always ask for proof not word of mouth.   (plus I like pictures).
