How do you get insured?
I mean what are we looking at in terms of insurance?
Based on the car underneath or overall?
Does insurance cost more than other vehicles?

Normally your family car insurer will not insure your specialty car. There is Grundy, Hagarty, and others that insure custom, specialty and antique automobiles. Most people go with agreed value. So depending on what you feel the vehicle is worth or the replacement value is can determine what the binder will be. Generally speaking a 65 grand car driven by a 40 year old male, is around 800 a year. Some companies limit the mileage driven and what you use the vehicle for; afterburners are a no no.

So what happens when you're in an accident?
I mean it's not like they can send the car to mechanics to assess the damage right?
And what about the repair?
If you custom built it, who can the insurance company designate to fix it?

Donovan,

I'm glad that you asked those pertinent questions about insurance, as I have been wondering the exact same things!!!!

One thing I have learned throughout this building process......

The further I get progress wise..the more I have to learn in order to get to the next step.
