I will admit that the 89 was made for looks and that as far as real world design, the tumbler probably can do more, but you seem to gloss over some fallacies with the tumbler. All the effects that the tumbler did were very carefully planned. It couldn't really just break through a real wall because it's front tires are exposed. Yes, I'm sure the car drives great and it looks cool, but neither of the cars are very practical.

Amen Tim

Wasn't there a thread with pics somewhere around here showing the custom steel bar that was mounted on the outside of the front passenger Tumbler tire to enable it to "smash" through the guard house and aluminum fence?

Thats why when i said wall i put it like this ->"wall"<- ! Also , the picture you speak of, look again and look closer, its the actual side of the car! No its not reinforced, its just because of the darkness, angle of the car and fence pieces that u can barely see. Id be glad to edit that picture just to point it out. Also , yes of course everything had to be planned because this is a movie and its planned for safety reasons. Also some shots were done in different setting either one shot on location and the other shot on studio. The same goes for the 89 car. Im very fascinated by the Tumbler, YES, i find it to be a very amazing piece of machinery. The car cost 1.7 million i believe for each and obviously its because of the stuff it can do. I guess we'll have to wait for the making-of. I know the only time it used a ramp was for the cave entrance dive because the was no real cliff it could jump from so they had to pull it on a jump. I also like it because it looks powerfull. Look one thing that would make me love the 89 car is if it had sharper more stealthy edges, i just find the shape is not well balanced. It looks powerfull from the front, but the back is too round and seems weak. That is why my favorite batmobile is the animated one, but its ficticious. So from real batmobiles you know which one i like. Let me know if anyone has seen a real animated version built!

Everyone knows that I like the Tumbler as much as anyone, but to disrespect the '89 that way... Can we vote someone off the island?

Wow, this is ridiculous.... its a damn car man! Some people tend to forget that. I wish people would shut you down for having an opinion. What is this, everytime someone comes around comparing something and showing all the "facts" do you people react that way? It just makes me think so much as if id be in school. You know it happens that people say the way they think, i guess some can listen to opinions more than others...
Anyway im very dissapointed with the way people tend to overreact when the thread is clearly about finding out why people dig it so much. This is a site about the cars from all of the movies and there's almost nothing but talk about the 89 car, but you dont see me judging people for that. Everyone's got their taste. You know what, nevermind me, thats right , be stuck up and listen to only yourself, i guess i cant have an opinion...

ps: i wonder if most of you even like Batman, im shure its just his car!

Ummm... This site was founded and based on the Keaton car, so do not be suprised if most of us prefer the '89 version above all others. That is OUR opinions. Ask those of use who have been around since this site came online... That is all we talk about. The other cars were added only after we found cool new pics and stuff to talk about the other versions. DH was kind enough to add all the info to this site as it became available. Now, in my humble opinion... It seems you are getting overly defensive about your POV on the Tumbler. Yes, it is a well built car. Yes, it is cool. Yes, most of us here love the Keaton car more and will crack jokes all day long about it. Do not get too defensive, because sometimes (like in the case where Tim posted above) we are joking and its hard to tell. We are all pretty easy going here, so don't get angry and start throwing names around here.

No worries , im past the age of cursing at no reason. I was making a point about opinions. You answered me, now i know what you guys are like (im assuming anyway). I like the fact someone can step up and cover for the others even tough it shouldnt be needed. Thanks for the info. I also figured it was a 89 site on the base. There again i was making a point.

Any of you guys got cool pictures of the animated or tumbler (yeah , lol, i know) replicas?

I really hope you don't believe the Tumbler can do all of that. It like all of the other are just movie cars. As far as the cost goes that's what you charge a company like the WB when they say their going to 70 million to make a movie. Several people have already started replicating it and I bet they get out for less the 50k. I didn't like the Tumbler in the beginning because it's just not a Batmobile. I love the damn thing now and yes it is more practical but we are talking about a fictional superhero so who cares if it can really do anything? Does Batman Cape really turn into a glider? hell no. I just hope you’re not too disappoint when you see the pictures of the Tumbler when it was hit by a drink driver or when it did smash into a real wall or how unstable the car was when cornering. The afterburner is just like all of the other Batmobile pretty but useless for thrust or power. I sure it cooks a mean hot dog. Again I love the car and this will get me some flack but I think they are all pretty awesome in their own way (yes even the B&R car).

So, calm down, chill out and enjoy the board. One last thought, this website was designed and created to worship the 89 (we have gradually let the other cars in) So you should have expected the opposition. So learn to love the 89, enjoy the board or go start a Tumbler website/board. And if your real name is Brett just go away.
