You know, I just found this site and I can't believe that people really do build this car. I currently am building a replica of KITT from Knight Rider, since I always wanted to, but in the back of my mind I've also always wanted to build a 1:1 scale of the 89 Batmobile, which I think is the baddest car ever to hit the screen, even over KITT.lol I personally know someone who has complete 1:1 fiberglass mold sections to build the entire car. He told me around 14,000 for the whole thing. All I have to do is build my own frame of course and do all the other stuff. I'm not mentioning his name or any contact until he says it's ok, he just let me see it all. He's had the molds for years, he's just waiting for the right time I guess. I'm going to finish KITT first, hopefully by summer, and after college, I just might build the 89 Batmobile. In my town people always get freaked out by the Knight Rider car driving down the street. When they look inside and see the dash and steeringwheel, they are even more freaked out. They would really freak out if I was driving an 89 Batmobile. That car is HUGE!!! This site rocks!! later

Bryan, you have come to the right place. I suggest you take some time and read all of the post, even the old ones. You will find some great info. Good luck with KITT. Jack

Thanks Maul, yes, my dream is to one day have both in my garage!!! As soon as I finish KITT, I will begin building the 89 Batmobile. I already have 3 77 chevy caprice frames to start with and I'm trying to aquire a Viper V10, which I plan on putting in the 89 Batmobile, otherwise it's getting a V-12 from a Jaguar. But it's all in the future, gotta finish KITT first. I also have plans to possibly build the 66 Batmobile, A-Team Van, General Lee, Starsky and Hutch, Back To The Future, and the car from "The Car", and maybe the car from "The Wraith", and of course "Christine", there's so many.lol I want em all. I have decided that I will build TV and Movie Car replicas the rest of my life!!!.....as long as I can get away with it.lol KITT is my favorite, 89 Batmobile 2nd, then all the others. But, I want them ALL!!

Yeah, but where would you keep them?

They take up a LOT of room.

My advice is to collect models instead.

You'd be surprised at how many you can fit onto a small, kingsized surface. If you find ones that have the right attitude.

I only wish I had the problem of trying to figure out where to keep them all.

Paul now that you aren't really in the business of making them anymore, do you plan on doing any more shows like the one above anytime? I can't imagine seeing all those cars together in one place!

Sorry. Maul

About 6 years ago a movie car owner with a Batmobile, a gun and some big friends told me I can't.

Only do local shows for free Hamburgers and a stack of Police PBA cards these days. (I do like to DRIVE my cars on the local streets, so I gotta do those shows)

Batmobile

Local PD's let me drive the cars to these shows so it's just a matter of gathering up some friends to drive them from the shop to the show. Don't have to spend the previous day loading trailers.
