College student in Vietnam builds miniature street legal Batman Tumbler for 21,600. 00 US.

www.autoevolution.com/news/batman-fan-builds-himself-a-fully-functional-awesome-tumbler-in-10-months-148611.html#agal_0

There is an embedded video in this article that shows a lot of frame and construction details.
For anyone wanting to build a smaller street legal Tumbler there is a lot of useful information here.

"Dac Chung’s Tumbler is only 90 percent complete, since he still has work to do on the interior.
Power comes from a 4-cylinder, 400 cc engine, with the designer saying his vehicle can hit 100 kph (62 mph) in a straight line on the road. For suspension, he used 4 front shock absorbers and 2 rear shock absorbers, and the jet engine exhaust in the back is non-functional. It’s only meant to mimic the one on the OG Tumbler and hides a motorcycle exhaust.

This Batmobile replica has butterfly doors and an adjustable rear spoiler, and a steering wheel with the Batman logo in it. Two people can fit inside, though based on the video, it’s a tight fit. The vehicle is 3.6 meters (11.8 feet) long and 2.6 m (8.5 foot) wide and 1.5 meters tall."

How to Cut and Shape Foam without a CNC Foam Router or other expensive Professional Tools
Part Eight-A
Building a heavy duty 36" X 48" Flat Top Hot Wire Foam Cutting Table for 3oo.oo or less.

In hot wire cutting on foam this tool does the work of a table saw, jig saw, and band saw. The commercial unit with a 24" x 40" to 36" x 48" table run 1200.oo to 3000.oo but the do-it-yourself builder could build a similar unit with a 36" x 48" table for 300.oo or less that will perform all the essential functions of the 3,000.oo commercial table.

I built my base table from scrap sections of 2 x 4s and 36" x 48" top by trimming down a discarded damaged piece of 3/4" wall display board. Cost: 10.oo for some screws. Work hours: 4
Cost to build base table from new wood: Still less than 100.oo

Next posting: Building the table boom.

POWER SUPPLY: The most important requirement in choosing a power supply is that it must come with an adjustable variable control to control the temperature with an easy to set voltage control.
Without this ability it is very difficult to cut foam without under melting or over melting your foam materials.
That said, it is possible through other methods to adjust a non-variable control power supply to the ideal cutting wire heat. You can find thousands of low-price fixed power supplies online and information/suggestions to adjust the power supply to the ideal cutting wire heat.

Bought a heavy-duty industrial power supply from HWFF for just over 200.oo delivered and received it today.
It performs all the main functions of other high dollar power supplies that range in price for 800.oo to 1600.oo.
Variable high voltage high amperage industrial power supply.
0-120V and 16Amps can power up to thicker semi-rigid hot wires and hot wires over 20 feet long.
Control the temperature with easy to set voltage control.
Easy to read built in voltmeter, replaceable fuse, two high wattage output plugs, replaceable brushes.
Cannot be used with GFI outlets - may permanently damage your power supply. Caution, turning up the power too high will fry your blade and can easily melt the cutting blade, cause severe burns, fire, and ignite volatile substances.
You will be required to read and sign a safety waiver when purchasing this power supply.

I, the Buyer, acknowledge that I am purchasing an Industrial Power Supply from Hot
Wire Foam Factory. I AM AWARE THAT I AM USING A HAZARDOUS PIECE OF
INDUS-TRIAL EQUIPMENT AND THAT I COULD BE ELECTROCUTED AND
BURNED AND SERIOUSLY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED. I AM PURCHSING
THE INDUS-TRIAL POWER SUPPLY WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE DANGER
INVOLVED, AND AGREE TO ASSUME ANY AND ALL RISKS OF BODILY
INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, WHETHER THOSE RISKS ARE
KNOWN OR UNKNOWN. ONCE I RECEIVE THE INDUSTRIAL POWER SUPPLY
I ASSUME ALL RESPONSI-BILITY FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO USES IT. I AM
USING THE INDUSTRIAL POW-ER SUPPLY IN AN INDUSTRIAL
ENVIRONMENT WHERE MYSELF AND ANY-ONE ELSE USING THIS KNOWS
AND USES APPROPRIATE SAFETY MEASURES FOR EXTREMELY HOT HIGH
VOLTAGE EQUIPMENT.

HOT WIRE BOOM ARM:
Found enough scrap metal two-inch square steel tubing and 2 x 1/4 inch wide flat to make the boom arm for my hot wire foam cutting table. Drilled holes for bolts that will hold ceramic insulators that will isolate the electrified
ni-chrome wire from the metal boom arm. These two insulators will be used for the 90- and 45-degree angle wire cutting positions. If I need some additional wire cutting angles, I can drill additional insulator holes.

I made my boom arm from metal, but I could also have made it out of wood, etc. Attached are photo-images of my boom arm in metal and a couple more that were built from wood. vertigo

Hey Vertigo.
I was reading thru some of your thread again and was wondering what the spacing is between your rear rims? Both the center distance as well as between the tires on each side?
Im looking into rims at the moment but nobody here has any concept of the size of the Super Swampers so I can get any assistance in looking for rims with a certain offset or spacing between the rims so that the Tires would be able to mount correctly on each side.
I have the diff ready in mind and before I look at the rims, It hit me, and don't want to go buying up multiple sets of rims with different off sets.

WARMachine,

'I was reading thru some of your thread again and was wondering what the spacing is between your rear rims? Both the center distance as well as between the tires on each side?"

The finished fully inflated spacing between the rear tires is 2-inches.
I built my custom four rear wheels using parts from two wheels each welded together.
The finished extended center wheels butt up against each other without any spacers.

"I'm looking into rims at the moment, but nobody here has any concept of the size of the Super Swampers."

The Super Swamper tire is made by Interco.
The size is: 18.5/44-16.5 LT

Note: There are no factory produced tandem steel wheels for the Tumbler. As far as I know, all builders of the Tumbler paid custom wheel builders to build their wheels. I did my own. vertigo

Been planning a build as well and I know you can get dually wheels in a Soft 8 design which is very similar to the Tumbler wheels. You would just have to add the 5 point "braces/beadlock" piece. It could be made and welded to the wheel. That's the route im going. I build custom beadlock wheels and this shouldn't be too difficult to do. There are also few dually aluminum wheels that already have that look or are really close. I believe they are the XD Series by Rockstar. Not perfect but close.

Placed this post here for anyone planning to and/or building a Batman Tumbler as well as for others who might be interested in collecting the 1/6 th scale Hot Toys Batman Tumbler.
The price on eBay usually ranges between 600-1800.oo.
It had been around 6 months since I last looked at 1/6 scale Hot Toys Batman Tumblers on eBay.
A friend of mine recently bid on two of these sought-after models.

He scored a new in the box camouflaged edition for only 350.oo and a damaged black 1st edition new in the box for 200.oo. Lesson learned: Bidding on eBay and other auctions can produce unexpected but beneficial outcomes. As I write this posting there is another damaged 1/6 Hot Toys Tumbler on eBay with a present bid of 225.oo.

Many Tumbler builders who use models buy two 1/6th Hot Toy model Tumblers to aid them in planning and building their Tumblers. One to deconstruct into pieces and modules and the second maintained intact as a complete structural summary aid. Can be done with only one model but two make it a lot easier.
Models can be used as visual blueprints and together with measuring instruments such as rulers, vernier calipers, etc. can be used to multiply 1/6th measurements into full-sized dimensions.

Yeah. I’ve seen many going for upper 600.
But 1989 batmobile goes for 2000.
At least Hot Toy collectors have good taste.
