Hi all,
I was considering documenting my Tumbler build on YouTube as I figured people would be interested however after seeing YouTube makers in the US receive cease and desist orders. (I am thinking of the channel B is for build who were making a Mustang Eleanor used in gone in 60 seconds) I am now having second thoughts.
Obviously, laws are different in different countries but large corporations have a habit of wanting to sue people everywhere so has anyone got any insight on this because I would be really annoyed if it happened to me?

Don’t call it Tumbler. Name it something unique like Rumbler like BWD did.
Also put disclaimer that this is a fan build and you are not affiliated with WB.

Yup, I did the same thing. I called it the BatBerry.
I had a nice conversation with their lawyers... Yes, they did reach out to me. Basically if you are not trying to make money off of it (aka ads on YouTube or otherwise) by using their trademarks you are "typically" good if the root of our build is out of being a genuine fan.
They were actually going to have me film me doing my build for the Dark Knight Bluray extra as a fan tribute, but then pulled it at the last minute when they started their lawsuit with Mark Towle.

Mark Towle lawsuit? Can you get into more details, I’m just curious.

Thanks for the info guys. I think i'll film the build and then release it when i'm finished, refering to it as something suitably batman-ish but hopefully different enough to not get sued.

Just a thought. One guy, Mark Racop, was so committed to building the best 66' Batmobile that he eventually got it licensed by WB. Now he sells them.
Many of you know the story. I don't know what it would take to make it happen again, but one guy was able to do it.
