I've looked into "banding" rims and I will definitely be going that route. MUCH cheaper than buying custom. Not sure if I'll just do it myself or hire someone. Likely myself to save money. And at this point the batmobile fund is slow fill in thanks to 2020.

Thanks on the comments for my exhaust. I tried so many times to explain it and draw it on paper but failed to truly illustrate what i saw in my mind. Thankfully, it turned out.

It seems i dont manage to get something on here very often and i wish 2020 would let me pick up the pace. Im starting to see a driveable roller. The checklist is getting smaller slowly but surely.

This update, i built brackets from scratch and installed the high output alternator and vintage air AC compressor, and got the belts properly tensioned. Built rubber lined trays and installed the (2) 12 gallon fuel cells(not strapped down in the photos) that will be routed in parallel with a tank selector switch. Yes, the car will have power steering, but i found a volvo electric power steering unit that is mounted elsewhere to free space on the engine.
Next in line is the cooling. The two radiators will be in series and pumped via an electric pump to provide better and constant cooling flow. I decided on this to run the engine as cool as possible since the engine bay will not have much air flow except from the upper vents to the rear of the floor.

As for sound issues, there will be a firewall behind the seats with plent of sound proofing lol.

Just finished routing the fuel system, all -6AN fittings and hoses and 2x 12 gallon fuel cells.
I also got the coolant system plumbed and filled. Hopefully, i can get her running and tuned before too much longer

Very nice indeed. Will you have to take it all apart again to finish the tack welds?

Not too often I get to log on. Busy busy busy...

Currently I am waiting on my rims to come in since I FINALLY found someone who can make them... a bit pricey, but I'll live.

Just finished building the steering system. Probably the most complicated part of the build. I found a real nice leather steering wheel with "GOTHAM" stitched in. I installed a disconnect for the steering wheel. From the steering wheel, I used a series of chains and linkages to get to the power rack & pinion ( a T-bird rack which I am going to power with a Volvo electric power steering pump). To keep the stress of the road off the rack and minimize issues, I used a set of CNC sliders to lock it in place.

I also ran a few string lines to get a rough draft of where and how I am going to build the roof, windshield, and side windows. I am designing my build to have an operational Windshield/roof sliding system to mimic the aesthetic car in the movie. So the windshield will not be attached to the body but rather to the roof and will slide up and under the roof as it lifts and moves back.

I also, just for laughs, put a Batwing style air cleaner on the intake. I couldn't help myself, there. Lol

Oh, and as for finalizing my tack welds: Not much really has to be disassembled since most everything isnt even bolted down. Seats arent even locked in place yet since I still plan to build a firewall behind the seats.
I usually just take anything out I dont want damaged and cover the rest with welding blankets.

WOW, That's a massive project. Looks like you're making great headway.

Not sure if I would be comfortable having the engine right behind me.
I saw a video of Jay Leno driving the movie one and that thing was LOUD on the inside.

Can't wait to see more!
