I was looking at the body kits and comparing photos with the original one, also the smaller and wider version.
What I noticed is that the top corner of the ventilation opening in front of the rear wheels is not correct on the kits.

You can compare it yourself with the photos I used from the original one on the left and body kits on the right...

The original 89 was moulded and altered by removing around 2" from each side, so the side vents would have had to be reworked. I believe all of the kits and replicars come from the narrower remould, although some builders have reworked the sides to be wider again.

Hope this answers your point. Perhaps other owners could add to this?
