Crazy thing is, I bought it and then had to put it in storage because I went to Hawaii for three months. But when I get back, Oh I'm gonna touch it! (just to drive of course. )

Reading towman's post here: http://www.chickslovethecar.com/board/Batmobile168095.aspx Got me thinking about what I have put into this build so far. I believe that in any of these builds the emotional commitment is immeasurable. And I have long since lost track of the amount of time put in, both in actual work and in planning. But financially, at this point, I would guess I'm into the build about $20 to $25 thousand USD. Probably closer to $25k. Hard to say what it will cost in the end.

I agree with his assessment of not giving up. I completed a full body buck mold complete with the side boxes, then decided they were to large and had to be redone. That might have been a place to give up. But no, We hopefully learn from our mistakes and do better next time.

Never give up, never surrender!

Folks have spent way more on custom regular car builds that no one even glances at when a batmobile is nearby. And usually they have just thrown a ton of $$ at some shop to build their car for them... We're putting these together and making them a reality ourselves, along for the ride with some folks in our community we team up along the way to get the build into the real world.

I've got a KITT, Ectomobile, and JurassicJeep all in stages of builds too... And I will enjoy getting every one of them going down the road with a batmobile out in front.
