Hi folks,

I have an update on the actual specs of the Tumbler used in the movies.
It turns out that the front tyre size is actually 105/18.0-15 and not the previously mentioned 94.0/15.0-15.
I got this info directly from the guy who made all 90 sets of wheels they built for the movies.

I’ve already got 94.0/15.0-15’s on my project, but any of you guys who want to be 100% movie accurate would need to know this.

Rob

Well, "there are lots of ways to skin a cat"...

I would be interested in hearing what the wheel offset was on the original...

RobG: Did your wheel-builder buddy have any insight on wheel offset?

Knowing how each builder's vehicles are different in different ways, it would be fun to see a table of different wheel offsets that people use...

For example, I'm planning on using a circle-track stock car front spindle for my BatPod, but might need something beefier for a full-size Tumbler.

What do "Shaggy's Plans" suggest?

His plans don't have that in them the front axle is a tricky combination to figure out I still haven't gotten it all figured out yet but I'm getting close

Looks sufficiently beefy!

There is a company that makes a wheel offset jig that I think would be very convenient for Tumbler builders...

http://www.thewheelfit.com/

However, they charge an absurd $600 for 3-pronged jig... the same thing can definitely be made for less than $50.

After I get my spindle, I'll be putting the exact dimensions into my CAD model... but for now, a jig like this seems worthwhile.

Hey Gez...

What is the compound of the tires used in the movie?
