Continuing to work on the next "mystery" component but the weather is suppose to warm up nicely this week so I may get some opportunity to do some actual body work.

Temps in the mid 40s today. Still a bit cold out, but got some body work done on one of the side boxes and some really good body work on the front section of the main body today.
I got the trim router out and tried cutting the decretive lines in the front main body section. Although it worked fine, it didn't take long to see that it was a mistake. With those grooves cut it would make the mold impossible to separate. So now I've come down to two options for the grooves. One is to make the mold and then place weather stripping on the completed mold to make the grooves in the final body piece. The second idea is to just paint the lines on the final body and not mold/cut them in.

I like the idea of making the mold and then placing weather stripping on the completed mold to make the grooves in the final body piece. The grooves would greatly enhance the depth and relief effects. Painted on lines to me would take a lot away from this bat vehicle. vertigo

Quick progress report:
Weather has been in the 40s here so I have been able to do some body work. I have put a skim coat of body putty on the front third of the car and have one of the front side boxes almost ready to be turned into a mold.
Here's an early pic of that side box being worked on. Still kind of rough in this early pic stage. Sorry I didn't get a more recent pic, but hope to show you the finished thing soon. I think I'll try to mold this as the first mold to see how it comes out.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Put a couple more hours on it today. I could have it ready to make into a mold this weekend but my wife keeps coming up with "other" things for me to do. Hopefully I will be posting pictures of mold making sometime next week.

Trying to find an hour or two here and there to do some work. Getting the passenger side front box ready to make into a mold.
1. sealed foam with epoxy resin
2. roughed out with cheep bondo and sanded wit 40 and 60 grit
3. smoothed out with a higher quality filler putty and sanded with 60 and 80 grit.
4. finished with Evercoat Easysand and glazing compound.
5. attached form section dividers.
Next up is to seal the forms with model making clay then several coats of wax and spray on some PVA separating film and I'll be ready to lay up the fiber glass. This will be a four section mold. separate pieces for the top, bottom, front, back, and side. The mold sections will bolt together to make the complete mold and will come apart to aide separating the mold from the piece.
Hehe, I was so proud of producing full air scoops but look, had to seal them up anyway because they would get in the way of form separation. I will have to cut them open and build them on the completed piece.
