I think they use the reverse engine v-drive combo to save in vehicle length and add some strength for the stunts. The dimensions on mine are not exact to the movies as it is being built to be street legal. That alone caused my design to be thined by over a foot. Using a conventional drivetrain approach gives the cab more room and offers a more aesthetic design but forces the vehicle to become longer unless you cram the engine between the seats. This method should also be quieter and allow slightly more power to the wheels.

Figured it was about time I posted an update. I just got done rebuilding the transmission support from a stand alone to one that is more incorporated into the structural support to help solidify the rear structure.
I also just installed a 90° brake booster setup.

Looks pretty good. I was keen to see how it would turn out with the motor facing that way

With this engine setup, the overall vehicle length will be 16'8" ... full outside dimensions for my design is 16'8" long, 8'4" wide, and 5'8" tall without the flaps. A bit different from the original, but I am going for a design to be as road legal as possible.

Took a few weeks for some math and got the triangulated four link built with an anti-squat of 88%.
