Thank you B Bop
Interesting idea THEMAN. I plan on using this as a plug for a mother mold, so only one use will be needed.

I get you on that, but would be nice to have a little insurance to do a second mold just in case something goes wrong...

Update:
Finished milling the next layer. It is the beginning of the cabin and includes the front wind shield. I haven't had time to do any prep work on this layer, like sanding off the milling tabs. In fact, the whole body still has a lot of prep and finish work that needs to be done, so keep that in mind.
Here's a closer look at the new part:
And here is a closer look at some of the details:
1. The opening that the defensive array comes out of:
2. One of the helicopter lift attachments. I'll eventually make this out of steel.
3. One of the sensors beneath the windows:
4. This little obscure wing thing is actually the very edge of the jet air intakes on either side.
5. Close up of the drivers side front wind screen. I outlined the posts in marker to make them easier to see.
6. A couple of views from the back. The first one is pretty much what you would see from the drivers seat.
Unfortunately this is all I'm going to be able to do until sometime in August. Got to go visit my wife's family for a couple of months. I'll still be checking in though.

Tell them Nitro says Hi. I will bro.
Are you goin to fibreglass it wonce you finish Yes, that's the idea. I hope to use this as a plug that I will cover with a thick layer of fiberglass separated by flanges etc. The foam will then be removed leaving a negative image on the fiber glass which is known as a mother mold. Then I can layer fiberglass inside the mother mold, separate it from the mother mold, and have a solid fiberglass body. This is basically how the '89 bodies are made. Theoretically multiple copies could be pulled from one mother mold, although I'm only interested in making one for myself and don't intend to make more copies. Who knows what I'll do with the mold when I'm done with it.

I’ve been thinking about how to progress with the build when I get back from “vacation “. I think the rest of August I will try to mill the remaining body. Then September for fiberglassing and making the mold. October is starting to get too late for fiberglass work in this part of the country so I will probably put the mold in storage until spring.
For the winter months I will work on milling some more parts like the side boxes and the wheel covers.
I really like Vertigo’s idea of making the cabin space out of plywood as a reference point, so I think I will do that and start building the steel frame and chassis.
