Like it or not, this gives us a good clear look at Batman’s newly
modified Batmobile for the Justice League movie.
The photo of the Justice League Batmobile while being transported is
believed to have been taken in Los Angeles on the way to the WB Studio
Tour.

So what does a comic book artist need to make this kind of money?
Talent and a long proven history of audience appeal.

Meet ALEX ROSS. He is considered by many, to be the world’s best comic
book artist.   Check out his Batman artworks in his gallery section at
www.alexrossart.com

ALEX ROSS BIO
“Born in Portland, Oregon, and raised in Lubbock, Texas, Alex made his
artistic debut at three when, according to his mother, he grabbed a
piece of paper and drew the contents of a television commercial he'd
seen moments before. By age 13 he was scripting and drawing original
comic books. Ten years later? He was hired by Marvel Comics to
illustrate Marvel's central characters in the comic book event,
Marvels (1994).

Having established himself creatively and financially with superhero
projects, he would eventually go on to win the Comic Buyer's Guide
Award for Favorite Painter. He won so many times that the award was
officially retired.

Alex's work has celebrated the 60th anniversaries of Superman, Batman,
Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman with fully painted, tabloid-sized
books, depicting each of these characters using their powers to
inspire humanity as well as help them.

Alex has often been referred to as 'the Norman Rockwell of comics' yet
his "Yellow Submarine" piece reveals the similarly powerful influence
of master surrealist Salvador Dali, whom Alex has also recognized as a
guiding influence on his style.

Forty years ago, Spider-Man learned that with great power comes great
responsibility. Looking at Alex Ross, it's obvious the lesson took.

Looking back, it makes perfect sense that Alex Ross would become one
of the world’s most preeminent and well-respected comic book artists.
It's a job he's been preparing for nearly all his life.”

Here is the web address to an excellent article written by Jesse

Very worth reading.

Top 10 Best Batman Artists
Who stands among the giants of Batman art?  By Jesse Schedeen

“Batman sure looks good for a guy celebrating his 75th birthday this
year. To honor the Dark Knight's big landmark, we are counting down
the top 10 best artists who have kept him looking so good over the
years.
But what makes a great Batman artist? Our selections had to pass three
tests. Their Batman must have been done in a unique style that didn't
just borrow from what came before. Their Batman must have contributed
to significant Batman stories that have gone on to shape the evolution
of the character. And they must have made a lasting influence on the
character so that their name will forever be associated with the word
"Batman."
It's also worth noting that this list only focuses on those who worked
on the Batman comics.”

Well executed highly detailed scratch built 1:3 scale models are in high demand with collectors.
Many of the more popular vehicles bring 25,000 to 50,000.00.
A few have auctioned for 100.000.00.

Here is an excellent 1:3 scale Batman Tumbler. Built by New Deal Studios, the 1/3 scale model is a radio controlled filming model.

New Deal Studios is a 21st Century Creative Studio known for creating
Visual Effects for such films as the DARK KNIGHT series, HUGO, THE
AVENGERS, SHUTTER ISLAND, INCEPTION, and INTERSTELLAR.

Sometime a few months back I read that this vehicle had been sold at auction.
Tried to find some details on the auction price and sale but no luck so far.
Anyone know anything about this model. vertigo

What makes 1/3, 1:3, one third scale, model vehicles so valuable?

Attractions of the 1:3 scale model vehicles include their size and
corresponding level of intricate detail and sophisticated moving parts
not commonly found on models in smaller scales. Most 1:3 scale
automobiles are arounds 7-feet long and more than 2-feet wide.

Detail & Precision: What should be your expectation in terms of
accuracy and modeling finesse for most models within the 1:3 scale.
Collectors expect that the modelers will have built detail into every
aspect and cavity they can gain access to, like the engine bay,
interior and trunk.

Within the 1:3 scale, the more they cost = the more detail expected,
even in suspension, wheels and brakes. Accuracy can extend down to
even the correct scale for the pattern of stitching or the bevel on a
chrome strip. The higher costs of the 1:3 automobile models allow
modelers to show their innovation and attention-to-detail in the use
of materials to replicate non-metal components like hoses and wires
and convertible tops.

Collectors of expensive 1:3 scale models expect accuracy and intricate
detail and freely express dissatisfaction and even rage on the scale
model forums when disappointed.

Display: If you are going to collect a 1:3 scale model vehicle, the
display for the model will need to be quite impressive as well.

Price Appreciation: Two factors determine whether a model appreciates
in value or depreciates. The RARITY of a model in a particular scale
and QUALITY of MODELING.  Scratch built one of a kind meet the first
factor: RARITY.

Most investment collectors that are willing to spend 100,000 plus buy
only scratch built and well executed models. Most are sold at
auctions.

Here is why collectors do not depend on edition series model
appreciating values: while the first model that is issued may have a
stated maximum edition size, there is nothing to prevent the same
manufacturer from coming out with additional series and improved
variants.

Conclusion: Significant increased return investment value begins with
a scratch built, extremely detailed, well executed model, with a wide
viewer appeal due to the fame of original vehicle such as the
Batmobiles.
