I put a copy of this post here because it may be of some value to some designing or building a Bat Vehicle.
The Eureka Effect in Relation to Bat Vehicle Planning and Building
Can sometimes be created and always encouraged to occur!
“An elicitation of understanding, a truly transparent and obvious
knowing that is rarely wrong, almost always accompanied by adrenaline,
exhilaration, and intense insight.”  vertigo

Part Two: Essential Knowledge:
Wikipedia
“The Eureka effect was first described by Pamela Auble, Jeffrey Franks
and Salvatore Soraci in 1979.
How people solve insight problems.
Currently there are two theories for how people arrive at the solution
for insight problems. The first is the progress monitoring theory. The
person will analyze the distance from their current state to the goal
state. Once a person realizes that they cannot solve the problem while
on their current path, they will seek alternative solutions.

The second way that people attempt to solve problems is the
representational change theory. The problem solver initially has a low
probability for success because they use inappropriate knowledge as
they set unnecessary constraints on the problem. Once the person
relaxes his or her constraints, they can bring previously unavailable
knowledge into working memory to solve the problem. The person also
utilizes chunk decomposition, where he or she will separate meaningful
chunks into their component pieces. Both constraint relaxation and
chunk decomposition allow for a change in representation, that is, a
change in the distribution of activation across working memory, at
which point they may exclaim "aha!". Currently both theories have
support, with the progress monitoring theory being more suited to
multiple step problems, and the representational change theory more
suited to single step problems.”

I put a copy of this post here because it may be of use to someone who is building or planning to build a Bat Vehicle.
Used my Milwaukee metal cutting circular saw to cut the main Tumbler arm shock mounts from 1/2" thick sheet steel. It took 5-minutes to cut them both. This is an amazing tool with many practical applications to Bat Vehicle building, especially the Tumbler and S v V DOJ Batmobile. vertigo

Part Three: Essential Knowledge and Relevant Observations
Wikipedia
The Eureka effect on memory occurs only when there is an initial confusion.
Memory
It had been determined that recall is greater for items that were
generated by the subject versus if the subject was presented with the
stimuli.
Sleep
Some unconscious processing may take place while a person is asleep,
and there are several cases of scientific discoveries coming to people
in their dreams. Studies have shown increased performance at insight
problems if the subjects slept during a break between receiving the
problem and solving it. Sleep may function to restructure problems,
and allow new insights to be reached.
Ohlsson Theory
At the beginning of the problem-solving process, some salient features
of the problem are probably incorporated into a mental representation
of the problem. In the first step of solving the problem, it is
considered in the light of previous experience. Eventually, an impasse
is reached, where all approaches to the problem have failed, and the
person becomes frustrated. Ohlsson believes that this impasse drives
unconscious processes which change the mental representation of a
problem, and cause novel solutions to occur.
Problems with insight
No one has yet been able to catalyze the Eureka Moment occurrence
(create on demand) or design triggers to specifically initiate the
experience.
For many problems, this difficulty appears to revolve around the
requisite restructuring or re-conceptualization of the problem or
possible solutions.

Part Four: My Personal Experience with the Eureka Effect from Building
my Batman Tumbler
“I experienced a few small Eureka Effects, more like small
revelations, as I proceeded along in my research and building of the
Batman Tumbler. I did not experience a major Eureka Effect as I have
described it, until I had over 2000 hours of research and essential
skills development, along with around another thousand physical build
hours.
“An elicitation of understanding, a truly transparent and obvious
knowing that I was absolutely sure of, accompanied by adrenaline,
exhilaration, and intense insight.”
Translated into the physical build world of my Tumbler it means I am
left, after awareness of the initial realization, with a sense of
knowing. Knowing the related Tumbler concepts, essential building
skills, components, inter-relational aspects, and order of proceeding.
One might also describe it as a complete grasp of the eclectic
inter-relationship internalized.

Part Five: How to encourage the Eureka Effect
Rule: The more complex your Bat Vehicle concepts and skills involved
deficiencies, the more time will be required for you to gain the sense
of knowing. Knowing your Bat Vehicle related concepts, essential
building skills, components, inter-relational aspects, and order of
proceeding.
Even with a lot of time invested, it may not be enough to achieve the
Eureka Effect, as it relates to your Bat Vehicle build. However, the
time invested will certainly increase your odds. Even if you don’t
experience the Eureka Effect, enough time spent, will get you close
enough in the understanding of your Bat Vehicle concepts, essential
building skills, components, inter-relational aspects, and order of
proceeding to complete your Bat Vehicle build.  vertigo

I put a copy of this post here because zinc casting can easily be used
to make Bat Vehicle parts by replica builders. Zinc melts at 787.2
degrees Fahrenheit (419.5 degrees Celsius) and is malleable at 212-302
degrees Fahrenheit (100-150 degrees Celsius). Zinc can be cast in many
types of molds and that includes high-temp silicone. For the best
castings use SHZ ZINC 99.995% pure. Zinc casting kits are sold online,
as are books on how to make molds, and casting metal.

Ever wonder why most Hot Wheels cars, Action Figure chess pieces, war
game 3” soldiers, decorative keyrings, costume jewelry, and many other
figurines and toys are made from die cast zinc instead of plastic?

Zinc Alloy Die-casting benefits over Plastic Injection Molding
◾Longevity-some zinc/zinc alloy statues are over a thousand
years old. There are toy soldier sets still around from the 1600s.
◾Better precision
◾Smaller draft angles
◾Smaller and longer cored holes
◾Thinner wall sections possible
◾Superior tensile strength and elongation
◾Far superior impact strength
◾Better machinability
◾Better formability
◾Lower casting costs
◾More finishing options
◾Vastly superior stiffness
◾More consistent properties
◾Better precision
◾Much lower process costs for thicker section components

A wide range of polymers and polymer alloys are available and each of
these has a range of properties dependent on such as factors as the
degree of polymerization and type and quantity of fillers and
pigments. Compared to metals therefore, the properties of plastics are
much more dependent on their source.

Plastic injection molding is the most commonly used production process
for complex shapes that will only be subjected to very low stresses in
service. The main problem with subjecting plastic moldings to more
elevated stresses is their relatively low elastic modulus. Even glass
fiber filled plastic injection moldings have much lower elastic moduli
than metal die-castings. Hence, for parts demanding even moderate
rigidity, plastic moldings must inevitably be much thicker than metal
parts. Increasing the wall section of a plastic injection molding not
only increases the material content and its attendant cost but also it
dramatically increases the time required to mold the part. Process
costs increase in line with cycle time, hence plastic moldings become
increasingly uncompetitive as rigidity requirements increase.

Hmm... I hadn't considered zinc molding. It is (was) my intent to mold several parts of my build in aluminum. It is a cheap metal and easily melted and doable with a home forge. I'll have to look into zinc.

hey sly,
The Batman and Robin ice batarang that I'm currently looking for was cast from zinc and then chrome plated.
The pictures I posted of the ice batarang make a good example of what is possible and present as a good recommendation for zinc casting. No forge is need to melt zinc. A good electric lead melting pot (that can reach 1000 degrees F) can usually be used to melt zinc. I bought my 90 lb capacity bottom poor lead melting pot from Magma Engineering. Holds more than 100 lbs of Zinc. Mine has a handle that operates a valve on the bottom of the pot. Hence, bottom pour capability. Beats hell out of using a ladle.

That is cool. Aluminum melts at about 1200 degrees, so something to think about.

Following sly's method of building the DOJ Batmobile will actually save the Bat Vehicle builder tremendous time and frustration.
hey sly,
I really like the way your DOJ Batmobile is coming along in wood. It is a perfect textbook example of the benefits of building in wood first, where the fitting of parts can be worked out, and later translated into steel or other more difficult mediums. vertigo
