Beautiful day today. Near 60 degrees here in the upper Midwest. You can't beat that!!
Did some good work today. Yesterday I built a chassis dolly because as I start to assemble the car I won't be able to keep it in the garage when I'm not working on it. I will have to move it to a storage location. Today I fabricated side panels and attached them to the frame. Attached the roof and front clip to the side panels and made a little support piece to hold the front part at the correct height. Then I put that whole assembly on the dolly. OK, I probably should have put it on the dolly then assembled it because it was quite heavy and a bit of a trick to get the dolly under it.

Progress report:
Added the top half section of the jet intakes and adjusted the line around the top of the door panels. Making a 1:25 scale model close to 1:1 is tricky because its hard to measure the small scale accurately. This translates in to some things that need to be adjusted when trying to transfer the measurements to the bigger scale. There are some places that look a little hacked up right now, but nothing that can't be fixed.
The roof line seems to be a bit high but it's where it needs to be for a person to be able to sit inside. There is still a lip that comes down around the front and there will be an upper portion of the door panels that will raise them toward the roof a little. Not to mention the window framing. So I think it will work out OK in the end.
Also started to do some work on the rear section of the car.

I decided to stop complaining about the roof height and do something about it. Looking at how to address it I decided to take a cue from the Jada model. I cut down the height 2 inches. Then I framed up and built up the top in the shape used in the Jada model. The end result is a better looking line and actually two inches more head room!
The most work was figuring out the spoiler. Lots of compound angles. 
Here's another angle:
Keeping in mind that I'm doing this car at a 10% reduction in size, but the size of the body is really not much bigger than a sports car. Here's a picture of it next to my Viper.
You can see that it's only slightly larger. (If you're not familiar with a Viper they are slightly larger than a Corvette.) The reason I mention this is that there has been some thought about using a donor to build the car. It certainly looks like it would work. In fact, you see that the height of both cars is about the same. (no wheels on Batmobile of course) The Viper has a 500 hp V 10 under the hood, which is a huge motor. A Corvette engine would be smaller but nice and powerful, so I am wondering if you might even be able to make it front engine if you wanted to. Something to think about.
Speaking of engines, the cockpit area of the car is mostly engine bay. The driver sits in the front third and the rest is for the engine.

| Great to see the project taking shape mate excellent work. When I was looking at your project I was thinking an old porsche 986 boxster s would make a great chassis and running gear for your car. I had one years ago great car plenty of power.

Great idea. I'll have to look into that. I was thinking a nice lamborghini Gallardo.  Actually, I did look at Pontiac Fiero's when I first started thinking about this project. But at the time I decided they were too small. I'll have to do some research.

This week I added the top part of the door skin and, just for fun, added some window framing. Real framing will be much more involved. The white stuff is a new kind of construction adhesive I'm trying out. I thought this would be a good project to test it on.

Update:
Time to work on this has been limited the last two weeks. We had a brief period of bad weather here that kept me from moving the car from the storage location into the garage so I did some preliminary work on the defensive weapons array in my basement workshop during that time. When I could get to work on the car I did some work on the ram-jet air intakes, a bit of a tricky project that gave me headaches.
and worked on the engine cover on the rear of the car.
Both of these areas are still rough and need a lot of finishing work, but it gives you a good idea of things. When I'm finished with this I plan to start on the side body boxes.
Edit: Oh, also purchased a DOJ style cowl to go with the car. Nice addition to my cowl collection. A must have if I'm going to have this car.

Update:
As you can see above, I used cardboard tube for the curved area of the jet air intakes. Since the weather has been in the 60s here, (this time of year it's often below 0) I took a couple of days to do a layer of fiberglass over this.
Started planning, measuring, and diagraming the front side boxes. I thought this part would be an easy build but it looks like it will be quite a project. Many small pieces need to be fabricated and joined together to get all the angles. Hope to have these by next weekend. Then start on the rear ones.

| Coming along nicely. Looking at these builds inspired me to start a mini tumbler that will just be a show piece it's only about half size if I can get the sizes correct and in proportion.
