Ok.. I need suggestions on two things.

1. The Back Hatch. Currently it hinges from the bottom, which is why the afterburner sits so far in. The top had two locks...one is ripped out. I dont think i have enough clearance underneath for trunk style hinges. I am almost leaning towards rare earth magnets (there are metal bracers mounted on the sides and top) and run bolts with a cotter pin through the bottom holes.

2. Hood attachment. I plan on doing what Rusty did. Add 2x2's to the edges so the body lines up better. Should I do more, specifically for the very front. Right now it just rests on the added frame bars. Anything else I should add?

I will try to get pictures of these issues soon.

First you need to take care of your over heating issue I would get double cool fan and huge radiator ,maybe shroud it better . Then I would worry about your other issues Second Every one i know uses u shaped hinges for rear deck lid that allow your lid to fit correct also you can build an after burner that allows your lid to sit on it. Third you want to hinge that hood, pain the the ass if you can not raise your hood right away to check for any issues Kevin has a great easy step by step segment for this.

Thanks Nitro.

Overheating problem is fixed. Fan wired to a switch. Will probably add another fan to help bring in more air.

I would like to see pictures of the U hinge setup to see if it will work. I have seen where people add the latch to the afterburner.

Also curious of the front hinge as well. It would help if I could get see some of the build logs. Everything is restricted.

for the front hood, i visited the local Farm and Tractor supply, picked up four large u-braces for tractors, set the up facing each other in pairs. by slightly heating one of each u-braces, i was able to 'strecht' it to fit over the other. I then drilled a retaining pin hole thru both, and inserted a pin not un-like that used on a trailer hitch.
I then bolted and welded one flat end to the front frame, and bolted the other end to the shell. This area will be glassed in, and bolt removed.
By trial and error, i was able to come up with the correct welding point on the frame to give me optimum hood swing. The 'pins' also allow me to remove the entire hood relatively quickly, for better access to the entire front end. hope this helps someone. . .

To build the impossible dream . . .

Drove the car for a good period of time a couple weeks ago. Had an issue with the side mechanics (they fell off). They were custom made by the previous owner Brin Londo with pieces found at Lowes/Depot. Before I start piecing them back together, any suggestions on Side Mechanics....

also does anyone have the Shelby Gas Caps they are willing to part with for a decent price?

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced source for 3D printing. The quotes I have gotten have been all over the place.

Canopy Advice. Right now my current setup is a round pipe on both side the right and left side roll on. The front has a roller under the hood (opening cut in the middle of the hood) on an enclosed track. Im wanting to update this because the last time I drove the car I got stuck inside, the front part would roll forward. I know the usual way is to use garage door track and rollers for the left and right. Im looking for suggestions for the front....Does anyone have pictures of theirs and what they use? Thanks.

Finally making some headway on the Bluff City Bat restoration. Upgraded the gas caps with the Large Cobra Style from Speedway. They fit great after some sanding. Next, we are adding some wood to the body like Rusty did with his and bringing the front end up some. As you can see in my garage she sits really low. Also need to wire up the head lights.
