Long time forum reader, first time builder....isn't that how this works??

I have purchased with the help of a significant donation, Brin's Cave Dweller. She is now the Bluff City Bat and will be used by Bluff City Batman in coordination with Cause-Play Memphis to visit the patients of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and LeBonheur Children's hospital....But first she is going to need some work. This is a MT car and after reading Dave's restore log, we seem to be starting in the same boat. The body is mounted on an 84 Corvette with the CrossFire Motor (i know I've read the horror stories on the CrossFire).

Here is my To-Do list over time:

-Headlights: I have a set of 1989 Honda Accord Headlights, I have a custom car shop lined up to mount and wire, unless the vast knowledge of this forum has any suggestions.

-The Pieces under the lights: They are currently off because the are junk and need to be replaced or build new ones. Preferably with magnets for ease of attachment.

-Back Hatch- the Hatch is busted at the bottom where it pivots on one bolt at the moment. With the help of the BatBerry Blog, I hope to add trunk hinges and latches at the bottom.

-Afterburner- Reattach so its farther out and make it sturdier...it is currently mounted on a trash can lid.

-Nose Cone: It has the signature MT nose cone with the plastic flower pot rim. Looking to replace that at some point.

-Intake Cones- Gotta make them..doesn't have any. Patterns will be welcomed.

-Gas Caps- Going to hunt down some Cobras, hopefully cheap ones.

- Interior- Like Dane's the body is mounted where the seats sit far back and there is a large gap between the dash and body. I am not going to be a stickler for the interior being screen accurate but it does need a complete overhaul of the interior including side walls and a wall behind the seats. Quick Release Racing Steering wheel.

-Canopy: May try to reinforce the canopy and rebuild the tracks so it slides better and maybe automate similar to Rusty's. Also try to hide the rivets, probably can be done

-Paint: Big fan of Akajunk (Jerry) PPG Industrial Flat black.

Over time I may try to find another donor car and remount the body, but until then she still turns heads. I have about 30 children and parents in my front yard Sunday when she was delivered.

Any and all advice is welcome as well as where to find interior parts.

Looks like it needs a little work, but all in all a very nice purchase. Wish I could find something like that.

This was the way they mounted them in Six Flags.

You might want to loo at speedway for the gas caps. Much more reasonable than most.

I think after looking at the lights, I may try what Rusty did with windshield glue or try the new clear Gorilla glue. Not trying to copy him 100% but I do like the way he can go from yellow lights to white lights.

Speedway does have the cheapest from what I've seen. I guess the large one is what fits.

Has anyone ever put speakers in the Intakes on the side. I think I may try it.

Just have to get the car running right. The 84 crossfire is a pain.

I think Gorilla glue expands as it cures so be sure to clamp everything solid. That intake looks a little different. It looks oblong. Maybe it's just the picture angle or something.

You could most definitely do what your saying by rolling wall sheeting you get from Lowe's or Menard's to form your cone secure cone with gorilla duck tape so you have a large funnel or horn of plenty look, now you will have large hole for air narrowing to small hole and I put A 6 inch sphere on the end of mine and fiberglassed it all pulled the plastic sheeting away had perfect funnel shape to match my car with a ball shape on the end like Warner Brothers in 89
Now you could match round speakers back there at the smaller hole and it would hide them and resinate sound like a speaker box.
then go ahead and fiberglass your lip all the way around your intake like jack did, for the finished look.

The side mechanics were assembled by Brin, the previous owner. He used basic supplies you would find at Lowes or Home Depot.
