Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. So I thought I would introduce myself. I am an amateur sculptor and huge batman fan.

I have been collecting the 1:18 scale batmobiles from the Hot Wheels line and would like to sculpt and fabricate the batmobile from the animated series to fit in. And have come here to find out what everyone thinks regarding scale and dimensions. I am looking for facts and opinions as i dont think there is any definitive info out there.

Now i have pulled screen grabs from the Episode The Mechanic of the blue prints as well as compare to Automobilia's blue prints. And that is my starting point for the sculpt. However scale and dimensions are where i need help. Automobilia has the dimensions of this car at 285.43 inches by 94.17 inches. I am not sure where they got this from, maybe just made them up. Because when I looked at the dimensions for the 89 batmobile they have them listed at 260.7 inches by 94.4inches. Now the Robert Lattin blue prints have the 89 at 236.25 by 92.50 but the 89 page has them the same as the Automobilia dimensions. So my first questions is which 89 dimensions are accurate?

And second after studying the animated batmobile it seems that its proportions must be fugged for the cartoon. To get the cockpit up to fit two seats side by side the car would be so long it blows it out of scale. For those who have seen the 24" Batmobile toy by DC Collectibles you will see to change the cockpit width to fit two figures you mess with the look of the car. And in my opinion its for the worse. So for those that have the Hot Wheels cars where would you want this car to fit scale wise? And would you want the car to keep the animated proportions or scale the cockpit up for a two seater?

Thanks to anyone that would like to contribute!

Yeah the cartoon just makes up the car dimension as it goes along.

The old animated batmobile toy and the real life batmobile all had to be made into a single seater in keeping up with the car length.

Yes exactly. It may have only one seat but it looks right.

Can anyone answer the 89 batmobile dimension question?
