The car is 2 wide for the uk roads has to be 8ft 4' tumbler is 9ft 4 , ya doing other mods. Wing mirrors, have to cover front wheels up. List o,s on. Dvla are waste time, vorsa are the ones that let it on the road, , I'll be happy when it's done, but would be cool. On road but life gos on. Shame Iam not in USA I'll be ok. I reck u be ok getting the 89 on the road, that should be easy todo..

Yes Gez, VOSA not DVLA. Sorry, it's been a long time since I looked at driving a 1:1 89 on the UK roads.

You are again correct about the 89 being more achievable too, however I concluded a while ago that the 89 was too impractical anyway as a daily driver. You are already hit, when you can see what's coming at you down the junction. Worse if you have an accident, or worse still knock someone over. DC or WB would make sure you lost everything in court, I bet. Having a Batmobile is one thing, driving it everyday is another. That's why I went a slightly different route with my dream, cause I wanted to be able to drive her everyday.

My build is based on an already approved model, with little modification to the shell or running gear, other than a new fibreglass outer 'skin' , a tweek to the lights, suspension and such and wearing different wheels. I am even keeping the windscreen, windows and doors intact When I ever finish it, mine should be little more than a fan based 'tribute', rather than a 'screen acurate copy' (although it would be great to have one on display). I am hoping that means I have little to worry about, from the DC/WB lot. It will probably end up not much better than a black car with a Bat symbol on the hood Not that there is anything wrong in doing that either

I do wish you luck and now see that with the Tumbler's exposed front wheels and such, it is impossible to have it passed, insured and on the road everyday. I wish you all the best in your build.

Surely no one expects to use any model as a daily driver. I am considering an 89 build myself but have been having thoughts as to how to transport it to differnt car shows because I doubt I would want to drive it any distance more than a few miles.

Sorry Slysnake, read again. The whole purpose of my build is a daily driver. That's also why I am not going full size.
