Hi, does anyone know if any of the Hot Wheels 1989 Batmobiles, 1:64, 1:50, 1:43 or 1:18 were laser scanned? I'm wondering if any of them were computer scanned to make the shape like Hot wheels scanned the 1966 Batmobile.

Thanks, Antony

We used to have the original guy who made the 1:18 batmobile post here. He even posted the Tumbler prototype before they were even released.

Search for Hot Wheel(s?) Dave and then follow the trail.

Those cars you mentioned were the result of scanned data.....they were not scanned themselves. What we did was scan one of those studio scale models made for the film. I think it was about 3 feet long. Then we went to WB and documented the full size car (Onstar at the time). Then the real work began by modifying the scanned data to match the full size car. Some areas were close...some a bit off. Even though the scan data was accurate in the end we still had to modify the design so it worked for a die cast toy.
