Was the Batmissile just a model or did they build a full size car?

full size .... Historic Auto museum in Il. ,Petersons car museum has one in CA. and I think Jay Orhberg still has the molds

I think England's Star car museum has one .Not sure if MR Moore from Tallahassee Auto museum has one or not?

Quite a few out there though.

Wow! There's almost more missiles than bats. I wouldn't have thunked it. Did any of them actually drive? Can you give me a link to the most info about them?

The only likely screen used one sits in Warner Bros. Storage in Hollywood. There have been a number of copies made though, the ones that Nitro mentioned.

Thanks mucho for the info! Looks like I have a date with google tonight. Now I want to find more pics of the amored bat too. I thought that was all matte effects. I'm a hooge fan of the '66, and the only other real Batmobile I like is the Keaton Kar. So glad I decided to sign up!

EDIT: Okay! Just found the Bat-missile page! Too cool!

The above pic shows the difference between the 89 and 92? Just both cars look different. Could be the angle and only one has cockpit open?

BTW: Cars of the Stars collection was sold (including all Bats) - only James Bond collection remains

The only difference I can spot from this angle MrA, is it looks like a slight difference in the cockpit windows. Might be the angle too, as you said. The only difference I ever noticed before, was some parts going from gold-ish, to black and the second car being glossier. I was up until about 3a.m. drooling over pictures. A local guy here had the second movie #2 car (I think it was #2) and I was able to grab some pics during a car show. He sold it last spring at Barret Jackson, and an original screen used car garnered less than an FF '66 replibat! Here's the pics I took.

Diggable, for sure... but the only original Keaton cars are in WB posession. People will claim anything, all that matters is what matches on screen and every car I've seen would not exactly be a dead ringer for the original cars.

You can easily identify the #2 car because it is the more matte Onstar grey, that is because the #1 car has been displayed more frequently and has therefore been rubbed down with polish quite a bit over the years, to the point where the Returns black is showing through in a few choice areas.

Little trivia for you too, the number 2 car (that sounds like a bathroom code but I assure you, it is not sh*t) has an Oldsmobile engine and the #1 car has the Chevy Impala V8 we've all heard about.

If you want to learn more shoot me a PM or just ask here on the board.

This is a bit disconcerting to me. He showed me the paperwork from Warner Brothers, which looked legit, and this car did have the Chevy engine because I saw it. It is possible he was duped himself. Either way, he got his bucks out of it.

If it came from WB and has a skinny a$$, then its a replica - not an original. WB have sold many replica Bats over the years.
