This came from Andy Smith in a reply to Shaggy some time ago on this very board
"Shaggy
As I recall I think we built 12 chassis, the first was just a running prototype that we tested and jumped till it could jump no more, it never made the film but we learned a lot from it. We then had 5 running cars , 2 cannon cars and the opening car. the other chassis were never built but kept as spares in case of a distaster. The original camo Tumblers were updated to later spec cars with one being built on a newer chassis. It all gets pretty complicated. #6 was the car that jumped in both films, was blown up in mid air, and was eventually broken up for the crashing scene in The Dark Knight. I could write a book on all this!!!"
Hope it helps

Hey Mr. A, How many survived the movies and where are they now? Also, do you know of any completed replicas not on my list? Finally, the Tumbler being built by Marcs Creatures called the Tribute Tumbler. The last I saw was a video labeled #8 of him driving it over a year ago. The last I read was that he planned to finish the body out by the end of 2014. Know anything about the status of this one? vertigo

Sorry Vertigo but the 89 is my thing. I have no idea about the Tumbler population out there. Only re-posted Andy Smiths comments cause I thought ya might have missed them. I did post the whole thread on the board a while ago

Hello Everyone, Thanks for your reply Mr.A Anybody else out there have any information on existing Tumblers? How many survived the movies and where are they now? Also, do you know of any completed replicas not on my list? Finally, the Tumbler being built by Marcs Creatures called the Tribute Tumbler. The last I saw was a video labeled #8 of him driving it without any body panels over a year ago. The last I read was that he planned to finish the body out by the end of 2014. Know anything about the status of this one? vertigo

Hello Everyone, There was also a Tumbler with conventional axle front suspension that appeared at one of the Six Flags in 2005. Anyone know anything about this one?
