I have a question for the fiberglass experts reading. Once I've made my two part jacket to hold the silicon in place I'll make the front and rear parts of the engine cover.
How many layers of fiberglass matting are required on the engine cover? If I unroll my CAD drawing I'll be able to make template so as to cut one piece of fibreglass matting to fit right around the engine cover. Is this the better way to do it? Or use lots of strips of fiberglass or use as few pieces as possible?
I'll do some Google research on fibreglassing in the mean time.

Molds ready to go. Not the best silicon job I've done, but fixing flaws in fiberglass is possible unlike urethane.

My first attempt at fiber glassing... not the best looking job, but I think I got the hang of it now. Might make another. This one only has one layer of matting. Im thinking I'll need two or three.

Some more of the details..... that serve no purpose what so ever!! Might run the speedo line through it.
I even used special "bat tape" to hold it in place.

Hey spidey4fun, I've been admiring your work for quite sometime. It is very crisp, clean, and professional. Your attention to detail in construction is obvious to anyone viewing your build. vertigo

Great work! The attention to details and "clean" layout make it look like it rolled off an assembly. Wish I had a "laser cutting guy". Any ideas on what the "ride time" is on the batteries? I know you plan on taking this to conventions and stuff but if you wanted to scoot around town or something that would be a blast. Also the fiberglass work looks really good as well. Never done fiberglass work before and it even scares me a little bit but seeing your work makes me want to try it.

Actually, I've been pretty unhappy with the fibreglass work. I'd rate myself poor at best. I think I've used too little resin in places as it didn't fully saturate the matting.
