Sprayed nose cone weapons pod and access cover with two coats of Rustoleum matte black custom paint.
For some reason this paint looks green.
Checked cans and they are label printed with matte black.
Maybe as it dries more it will turn blacker.
Maybe wrong paint in cans.
If so, I will have to try another batch of paint and recoat. vertigo

This paint is not matte/flat black at all. It's sort of grey/dark olive color tone, it's noticeable especially in bright conditions. So, don't buy this can if you are looking for flat black.
Response from Rust-Oleum Support.

Placed a copy of this post here for anyone planning to and/or building
Printed out life size photo-image of movie correct steering wheel to do a measurement study.

Steps on how to use this method.
Find a known measurement detail. I used the knob base .660 on the Thrust.
Compared it to photo-images of movie correct steering wheel.
Enlarge photo-image until image of knob base measures .660.
With this accomplished you can now measure any detail accurately on the photo-image of the movie correct photo-image.

Put 8-hours on my Tumbler today.
Measured out hole patterns and drilled holes on nose cone weapons pod.
118 holes drilled in 1/4" steel plate took awhile.

Put two more hours in to repaint nose cone weapons pod assembly matte black.
Looks pretty wicked.

sly
"And how many drill bits?"

Six drill bits.
Still have to tap threads in 24 holes.

Thanks for the kind words.
Did you resolve your CNC problems?

I had a power outage while running my CNC table.

When power came back on table didn't run.

Generated a new tool path file. Did a simulated run. Table began to run again.

I have it narrowed down, definitely an electronics problem caused by a short circuit. Need to replace either two motor drivers or the IO board. Good news is, it shouldn't be too expensive. Maybe a few hundred.

Vertigo,
First of all, your tumbler project is coming along very nicely. I’ve read through all the pages on here, ton of good info! Second, I’ve been spending a lot of time researching stuff, and will more than likely start a build in the future. (1-2 years out probably).

Couple of questions:
A. How much work are you going to do on the interior? (Like the stunt car, or like the movie car)
B. Have you formed a plan yet for the doors/access?
C. Are you concerned about “whine” from the V-Drive? The reason I ask is because the stunt car’s V drive is extremely loud, and you can’t hardly even talk to another person inside. I have entertained the idea of going with a divorced transfer case to solve this. I’m no expert in V Drives, so it’s possible some are quieter than others. (I believe the ones made to handle a lot of power are going to have the larger size gears, and therefore the loudest). If you haven’t seen it yet, YouTube “Jay Leno’s Garage” as one of his shows features the actual Tumbler. They drive it around as well. Pretty cool video to watch for inspiration. There is also a nice hard cover book called “Batmobile, The Complete History” that I had picked up a while back. Some good pics and info in there as well.

Sorry for the long ramble. Good luck with the rest of your build, and I very much look forward to seeing more!! Thank you.
