Received an email today asking about POR 15
Placed a copy of this post from 10-27-2014 here for anyone planning to and/or actually building a Bat Vehicle.
I mentioned using POR 15 on my Tumbler. This is one product you really want to read the instructions on before using in a well ventilated area. Wear gloves also mainly because regular solvent won't clean your hands. This is an outstanding product.
This is the best rust prevention coating I have found .
POR-15 Information
POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating is a high performance coating designed for application directly on rusted or seasoned metal surfaces. POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating is non-porous and seals and protects many surfaces from water, chemicals, salt, and other corrosive contaminants. POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating is an effective anti-corrosive and rust preventive coating that offers superior chemical resistance due to its dense, cross-linked molecular composition and non-porous attributes.
The secret lies in POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating's curing process. Most paints dry through evaporation, but POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating dries faster when moisture is present. It has the opposite chemistry of ordinary paints. Now add to that POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating incredible hardness, toughness, and flexibility and you have a coating that is practically indestructible. POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating is great for auto restoration, and protecting valuable equipment against rust and corrosion
Call on POR-15 to restore your car with a rock-hard, non-porous finish that won't chip, crack, or peel and prevents recurring rust by sealing your metal against exposure to moisture. The high-tech, high performance, rust-preventive coating designed for direct application on rusted metal surfaces not only covers the existing rust, it also prevents the reoccurrence of rust. Available in clear, gray, silver, and black, these non-porous POR-15 rust preventive paints are ideal for a quick improvement. vertigo

Tack-welded my Tumbler Nose Cone weapons pod together today.
Still have to check and recheck every match up several times.
Hope to start main welding soon.
Will still be a lot to do on this assembly, guns etc., before the completed assemble is welded to the main Tumbler body. vertigo

Ever wonder what Batman's view from inside the full-sized Tumbler's nose cone weapons pod looks like?
Here is an image I took from inside my Tumbler's nose cone weapon's pod.

Finished deep penetration inside and outside weld beads.
Next step will be to grind all these welds.
Then add additional weld material on any incomplete welds.
After these steps are completed, will still need to:
Cut and weld in metal glass holding strips.
Fabricate hinged access panel for nose cone weapons pod.
Cut, fit, and weld in metal cannon barrel sleeves.
Cut, fit, and weld in cannons internal pod support structures.
Modify/lathe turn and thread cannon barrels as needed to match movie guns profile.
Install cannon barrels.
Test fire cannons.
Paint pod.
After everything is deemed complete and functional.
Fit completed nose cone weapons pod to Tumbler and weld in place.

Very cool. Nice work.
I notice you said test fire cannons. Will they be live ammo, sim fire, or compressed air?
