Hello gents, I am starting to order parts for my build. I am trying to get suggestions on the best air suspension as in brand ...height.. etc. I was thinking a 2 inch lift to be able to drive it down the road then lower it for events. Just not sure if that's enough. Any advice would be super.
thanks all, James

You will need more than a 2" lift if you want to get the car onto any trailer. I just had mine out to a show and we needed to jack it up to the clouds. It's not just the front, but the rear scoops down behind the wheels which also causes issues.

I have the ridetech system with their electronic controller. All my friends with air ride say that if you don't go with the electronic controller with presets you'll regret it. Especially if you drive the carver much.

Rusty I watched your youtube video and you can put that bat way up in the air which is good for loading and unloading on a trailer. Can you do preset heights for it? as in slammed to the ground for shows, slightly higher for driving around and then jacked up for loading and unloading?

Brcewayne Im taking that the eletronic controller keeps it leveled at all times? and will it allow you for multiple presets?

The controller lets you set height on each corner individually.. then record those as presets so that you just press a button and they go to the desired height.

You can get other options like self leveling sensors for the corners that will keep the car the same height no matter who is sitting in the car..

Question for Tim ,

Is your air ride system finished yet? I knew you had the bags in , and you had the parts, did you get it finished for the show or just enough to keep air in the bags....?

also wondering if you've relocated your front shocks yet? if so where are the pictures?

Gonna try to get mine done in the spring once I get the motor back in. and running fingers crossed
I think I might just go with the basic kit then if I can actually take it out of the driveway in the years to come I might upgrade.

I"m also thinking doing all the other moving parts with air as well , canopy, guns, trunk might be a little faster than actuators , I might need a larger air tank and you showed me space is sorta at a premium in there..decisions decisions.....

I was thinking of going with a 3 gallon tank but after mentioning all the other moving parts like guns etc.. I may go with a 5 gallon. Never considered the canopy opening off air though. I wouldnt think it would work very well if the air pressure leaked down or you being able to control it by remote.

If you can control the bags by remote you should be able to control the roof or guns, I don't know how practical it would be , but you should be able to open that canopy in about 1 second.
I think and actuator 2 feet long takes 6 or 7 seconds also the air might sound cooler.
It might not survive but it'll open fast you should be able to dial in he air pressure to a good speed without launching it into the street.
If there is space i would have it pull it open rather than push it open maybe locate it at the side instead of the top of the canopy or under the front hood. It might work when I get that far i'll weigh the pros and cons and hopefully make the right decision, so when I get my air tank I get one with say 8 ports it gives me the option to use them or not to use them..
and it should have constant pressure
later

also
I was looking at the cool electronic control on Airbagit.com its kinda Bat Dude like, black with red display and lotsa buttons, but the price kinda turns me off a bit... but it is so very cool....so it's a definite maybe....almost ...sorta
ok laterer

I have all of my air bag system now.. I just have the air springs in right now and not the shocks. Waiting to either replace or clean up my front lower A arms first. But I also have them hooked up to a "T" fitting so that I can inflate them.

I have a bunch of pictures.. I'm going to blog them sometime this weekend

As far as air for the canopy and guns.. It sounds like a lot of work compared to electric linear actuators
