So i've been doing some research on building a car body since i want to attempt to build my own 89' Batmobile. I came across a very good plan for 'Building a Lamborghini Countach' we can simply learn from it and build our own desired car body. I just wanted to share this awesome file with you guys

Here it is: http://kit-car.org/Files/lambo/Countach/PLANS-Lamborghini-Countach.PDF

Neat idea, mostly sounds useful if someone is going to make their own molds.

The will to act.

Something you might want to think about...

With the availability and the pricing of a full build kit, I couldn’t see why anyone would want to build a body from scratch? There have been several people have tried to replicate the 66 Batmobile for the past 20 years and they still have missed the mark.

Urethane foam is extremely expensive along with a good quality resin. By the time you build the plug, glass it in fill it with filler sand the whole thing out not including the labor involved you would most likely paid more than you would have to buy a Kit.

Then again, if that is the thing you really like to do then more power to you…

But Yeah Kevin is right it's alot of work and if you have the money the kit is the way to go... I'm just too cheap!

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I live in New Mexico, and I am currently drawing a full set of plans for the Lamborghini Countach. The plans are very detailed. Every part is blueprinted. I have the rear wing, chin spoiler, front bumper, engine deck lid, air intake scoops, and rear tail light panel finished. All dimension are in these prints.
I can send pics by email

Urethane foam can get expensive depending on weight/density and the amount needed. I'd recommend getting expanding urethane foam that is about 16 lb. in weight as it's less pricey and easier to obtain than the comparable foam blocks. Many marine stores that too carry fiberglass supplies should have it. For large, primarily flat surface areas -sides of rear fenders, tops of front fenders, top of bonnet, canopy top etc- Formica would do just fine as it's pliable, relatively cheap and allows the builder/fabricator to save the foam for areas that actually need to be 'sculpted'.

Hopefully, this will be somewhat helpful.

Do I look like someone with a plan? 0_o
