Hi. I'm still working on all the ins and outs of the tumbler before i start construction...I'm a computer programmer so designing a working computer system for the tumbler is easy, unfortanetly i'm lacking in the mechanical department. However I plan to use an embedded computer or laptop with multiple lcd touch screens utilizing a windows os with C#.net or vb.net on the back end to communicate with control modules that contain PIC microprocessors for gathering data. On the front gui side of things i'm going to use a flash interface that communicates with all the sensors in real time via the C# or vb.net on the backend so it will respond to the touch screen. The interface is interactive so you can touch various parts of the screen and it will bring up different pieces of information. The picture below would be a result of tapping the fuel window. This will give me the ability to add proximity security sensors with infrared or ultrasonic sensors to detect the presence of a person or persons around the vehicle as well as gather other data from the vehicle. I'm also planning on using nrf24l01 2.4ghz transcievers so when I walk up to the vehicle it will know who I am vs someone else. I have been working on a basic mockup of one the screens. Once I decide on a layout I can export the components and start coding. I also plan to use the microsoft speech sdk so the computer can talk and respond to events just like in the movie. The nice thing about the speech sdk is you can buy profesional voices for the sdk so you can get the computer to say what you want with a profesional sounding voice (without using limited sound files or phrases...I purchased a female voice similar to that in the movie) without it sounding like a choppy slow computer voice. I was curious what other people were doing. As well as their are very few scenes that actually show the computer inside the tumbler or else I might attempt to build a replica of the interface in the movie So for the time being I'm building my own designs. Let me know what you think. Again this is a work in progress... I would like to know what others have done so let me know what you think. Thanks.

Here is another pic. Basically the system can respond to sensors. IE this one would respond to a magnetic sensor in the canopy to know when it is open or closed.

Hey Stevo, those screen graphics for your Tumbler look pretty cool and like the idea you are using a female voice similar to the movie voice. So your going to create screens for all the onboard systems. Should be pretty cool. I like what you have created so far. BWD

Thanks. I managed to get a couple of screen shots of the computer system in batman begins. It pretty much shows a lot of small screens in the interiror and the only detailed screen is the small gps system and thats about it. Unfortunately thats all they show...Most movies for example ironman tend to show more fragments of the interface so you can piece together rest and build a replica system. I wasn't aware of the screen saver, I will take a look at it.

I also got a couple of screen shots from them second movie. I'm wondering if they "updated" the software, or it is just a different screen. Here is another screen I built, it's a little more refined and relates to the ultrasonic proximity sensors being tripped which would allow you to go into security view which would take you to a different screen.

I managed to replicate one of the screens from the second movie after the joke hits the tumbler with an RPG. Just before the batod is launched the tumbler is performing a systems check. And here is my relicated screen...Its still a work in progress... If anyone has any other screen shots that would be much appreciated as their not much to go on. You can barely see the screen. At this point I'm not sure how functional this type of interface really is. Perhaps I could desing the screens to change based upon the buttons that are pressed if someone decides to build a movie accurate interior. I will try to keep this post updated with any other screens or screen changes as well as any software developed. I'm hoping to create an installer package for the software so when i'm done if someone builds a screen acurate interior where the screens are connected to the laptop they can simply install the software and the screens will show up as well as respond to events.

I'm still working on the interface for anyone that is interested. However I'm also working on my own full scale tumbler mockup (will create a separate post when I get closer) as well as working 2 jobs. When I have a beta program ready for testing here is what will be required. PC or laptop running windows.(sorry currently not supported on mac or android unless you can run microsoft windows programs that support dot net and flash.) I intend on making this a working interface meaning you will need to have a PC or laptop with a touch screen. Having a touch screen will alow you to press buttons and respond to events on the screen. I might also make this a static screen saver as well so if you have a computer screen it will simply run through some graphics but won't interact. Also in order to make this a real program Eventually I will be working on building some computer modules so you can place sensors through out the vehicle that will "feed" the program information. I will post more pics of my progress when I have the available time. Thanks,
