i have been reading about a few builds, their successes, and issues faced during the build. i m currently sitting on what i believe to be enough money to get started, i just have a few questions based on what i have read so far. 1. from what i have read there are really only two reputable kit builders to buy from, "kevin, and Doug" how do i get in touch with either of these two, and 2. as far as the chasis it seems that a 141" to a 144" wheelbase is what is required to start, is there any suggestions as to a good "base" vehicle that would require as little frame modification as possible i understand that each kit is a little different, but is there a vehicle that would at least be a good starting point. it seems that a 93 chevy caprice classic is the popular base, but are there any other suggestions? thank you for any information anyone can provide me.

I'm probably too new to actually administer the newbie speech, but your best bet is to read through as many build logs as you can get access to. There's a dozen or so VERY thorough logs on this forum, or linked to herein. Pretty much any challenge that may come to mind has already been tackled successfully by builders before you.
But yeah, I vote for Chevy caprice. There are links to kevin and doug's info on the right hand size of the page.

thank you very much for your replies. this is an amazing website, and full of great information. glad to see so many people out there willing to share their experiences, and issues to help out people looking to get involved in the same project. rather than have the "just figure it out yourself" attitude. thanks again. very glad i found this site

thanks again for your quick replies. i think i am headed in a better direction with this now. i have been waiting untill i had what i believe to be enough money, before i began to seriously inquire about this, didnt want to waste anyones time. now that i have that, i believe i am ready to at least get the ball rolling. i was a mechanic/fabricator for about 8 years, until i was injured at work. my room mate is an engineer. so i believe between the two of us we have the skills to complete it, and thanks to this awesome website, i believe i have the resources, and advice to feel more comfortable with this project. thank you again for all your help.

Got in touch with Doug, he was super cool, and very helpful, got the ball rolling with him, an i am using a combination of a 94 chevy caprice, a donor 350 ls1 and a turbo 350 trans, and a 70 impala, thats what on the chopping block willing to give their lives to the cause anyway, well see how much i use throughout the build, also found an aviation salvage company to obtain a few odds and ends, still on the scetch pad for now, until the body arrives and i can get exact measurements, i really dont want to get too crazy with cutting or chopping anything yet, but some early demo work is surely warranted, stress relief at least
