http://www.torquenews.com/108/buy-batmobile-fort-lauderdale-auction

The Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale auction will be held March 4-6. It is expected the Batmobile will fetch anywhere from $200,000 to $275,000 when it comes up for bid. That would be quite a coup because this Batmobile cost Warner Brothers a reported $2.5 million as a promotional vehicle. Of course, the producers might have just claimed it cost that much so they could keep reported profits low for their investors.
The only downside is this Batmobile is from the 1995 Batman Forever, starring Val Kilmer, Jim Carrey, Nicole Kidman and Tommy Lee Jones. To paraphrase the Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons, Kilmer was The Worst. Batman. Ever. Heck, even George Clooney was a better Batman.
According to auction materials, this Batmobile, with a fiberglass body and custom tubular chassis, is in full operational mode. Well, it runs and you can drive it. Let's put it that way. It's most likely not armed for fighting Two Face or the Riddler, the two villains featured in Batman Forever.
There's an interesting caveat attached to this auction. Warner Brothers’ Consumer Products Division must approve the winning bidder. So, if you're an evil villain like Dr. Freeze or Poison Ivy, you're probably not going to be allowed to take the Batmobile home from the Collectors Car of Fort Lauderdale auction that is run by Auctions America by RM. Information on the auction is available at its website.

Like Bond, Batman’s garage is full of contenders for this list. Adam West’s 1960’s red-trimmed roadster, Christian Bale’s rough and ready Tumbler. George Clooney’s, erm, big floppy thing. But nothing quite captured the imagination like Michael Keaton’s sleek black beauty in Tim Burton’s 1989 masterpiece: machine guns behind the fenders; oil slicks; smoke emitters; a grappling hook for taking sharp corners and that sexy cocoon mode when parking in dodgy areas. But the best feature? Those delicious hubcab bombs that drop off and explode whenever someone tries to chain a big stupid yellow brace to your wheel.

I must rewatch my batman 89 copy again. I can't believe I missed those scenes.

No OIL or SMOKE, Jimmy.

Just gadgets reported to be on the car, never used in the Movies.

Salazar is close to finishing a running replica of the 1989 Batmobile. It will be No. 3, and No. 4 is sitting behind his garage.

Says he's finishing his 1989 Batmobile replica. Anyone know this Houson builder?
