This is my first build log posting! I've done my homework using alot of the information posted by you brothers and I really appreciate it. So far I have the Hoosier Racing Tires, searching for the right rims used, need 15X15 if anyone can help?

Going to start a mock build using PVC piping and wood. I will post photos of progress this weekend, but for the mean time, here are some of the photos from my man-cave workshop.

Speedwaymotors.com has the rims you need. 15x14 wheels will fit the tires as well plus, they are much easier to come by, and the look is exactly the same. I would also recommend that you buy the rims without the centers attached so that you can set the offset yourself. It will make life much easier when it comes time to mount the rims. I say this only to make sure that my mistakes won't be yours as well.

PS - Shaggy's drawings will be your best friend right now, so when you have nothing else to work on, study the drawings. Also, check the pattern on your tires and verify that they are the Q pattern (Hoosier website)(I can't tell for sure from the pics but you can always swap them out if they are a different pattern) Just FYI

Ready for some more pics. Best of luck to you.

Hoosier site states these Sprint Car Tires are to be used with a 15,16 or 17" wide rim. Would 14 actually fit? I'll call the speedway tomorrow to see what they got. I'll get some better better pics snapped off over the weekend and post for everyone. You can let me know if they are the Q pattern.

I use firefox, and i use the image code from my photobucket account, copy and paste that code into the text that your writing and it will bring in the image automatically. Let me know if i need to give you a visual on how to do this.

We are running the 15x14 on ours and it seems fine but I would go with Hoosiers recommendation for sure. There isn't any real cost difference, just that the 15x15 may have to be custom made. As far as the pattern goes, look at this close up and you should be able to tell if it is the same.

Cheers!

If you use IE then you should get a picture icon above your post text area.

Check this post. Thanks
