More repair pics. This is where the pass door (missing a chunk of glass) meets the rear quarter panel (Also missing a chunk of glass).

And after some body filler

I faired in the hood vents and scoops permanently to the hood. This is during the body filler part.

And another showing the vent and how it is faired in.

And here is my $30 paintbooth I built inside of my garage.

And two of the hood in the booth being sprayed.

well i actually meant more pictures of the cow, but i guess that will do. kidding. You did an excellent job in laying the body filler and sanding it so smooth that its seamless. What were your steps in getting it that smooth if you dont mind me asking. I can always benefit from body work information.

The top has been painted and the wet color sanding has begun. The roof of this car is the only part that can't easily be removed so I drove the car into the booth to spray the top. I also sprayed about 6 other parts that day (2 doors, 2 quarter panels and 2 mirrors). There were 15 separate pieces that were repaired, primed and painted during this project. Panel painting a car gives a LOT better result.

Pay no attention to the 1 quart Jack n' Coke in the picture. By this time in the project I was working until about 11 or 12 at night to get it done.

Here's a quarter panel being color sanded.

The hood being color sanded. All parts started with 1200 grit then 2000 then 3000. All in all about 120 hours of sanding AFTER the painting was done.

And this is the ONLY action shot of our hero during the entire process. More and more of the sanding was done sitting down as the project moved along!

Notice the gloves in the pic above. A tip for those who ever do a lot of color sanding: Wear them. When your skin is wet and soft the sandpaper will take the skin off before you know it.

Shaggy, here she is with her first born calf about 10 minutes after he was born.

You asked, you got!

The bodywork is kind of an acquired skill. It takes a lot of practice. On a car like the Viper with a lot of convex curves, your hand will tell you better than your eye if it is right.

lol. guess i asked for it. I figured it would be something that has to be learned, not taught. I told that to alot of people when they would sit next to me in School and ask me to teach them how to draw. Guess i'll just have to practice practice practice.

Here are some pictures of the paint after it was buffed out. Notice the pigsty garage in the reflection. In the one picture all you can see is the reflection of the ceiling of the garage and some homeless guy taking the shot.

Had to look for something reflective, so I picked the closest thing around.

Once the car was painted, then it was assembled again.

These were taken before any of the colorsanding was done.

Here is the hood showing how the duct and louvers were molded in permanently. As far as I can tell and am told I am the first to do this to a Viper. I think it gives the hood a lot cleaner look. The first picture is of a black Viper that isn't mine, showing the gap around the louvers and duct.

And here's mine without the gaps.
