Hey T-man I've seen in body work where thin guage steel is used that they weld with short beads with lots of spacing between the welds to reduce warping. Also if the panels overlap you might consider using a spot welder like they sell at Harbor Frieght. That also helps reduce warping......Dave

oh yes BWD I would love to get a spot welder and a larger bender but it comes down to the funds..I used a spot welder way back in high school and that was it. Conrad Is that video going to have you pushing it around?? Today I didn't do much I built the steps that will go under the panels on both sides and put a little bracing on to set it. tomarrow I'm going to try and get the other panel on and then re-enforce the steps.

well today I went out and did the other side and step ..it didn't line up as well as the other side but I just manhandled it a little and it worked.
don't know why it came out fuzzy looking....these next ones are from the topdown from the back and the other is from th front.

I took the front panels off because I went out and drove it to see how well the panels worked ...and man I tell you what , I think everyone in the neighborhood could hear me coming and going...they rattled alot and loud...so I pulled off the front arm pannels and started to put exrta bracing on and then I ran out of welding wire, So I'm going to have to finish up tomarrow after getting a new spool of .035.

T-man, looks good so far! I talked to Shaggy, he agrees that I should do something like want you are doing with the panels. I finished painting my frame today. Hoping to have hubs made for the duels. Yes, there is no way to weld the rims together. There HUGE!! I am learning a lot from you. Keep up the good work! Terry

I bought the four back tires for BikeBandit.com Ok, this how I did this so I can stay with my budget. I already had the back set of rims of the go kart. So want I did is bought another set to match the two I got. The size of rims is 10 inches. Now with the four rims I have, I can only find tires to fit the 10 inch rims. And like you said, there was not too much to chews from. To try to stay within scale like Conrad wanting to go with 29 1/2 inch tires or like Shaggy's build 31 inch tires, I could only find the biggest tire to go on the 10 inch rim. The tire for my 10 inch rim was 27 inches. I noticed that your running in the back a 8 inch rim. You mite have to go with a bigger rim for bigger tire. Thats why I did what I did so I won't have to buy more rims. Boy, if my rims were 12 inches! There is a bigger range of tires to chews from. Now the rims I bought was from the company that sells the go kart. In the front, I have 8 inch rims. Wanted to go wider to give that look like yours, but I can't because of turning. I only have about 9.50 inches of wide tire to play with. If you need any more info, just let me know. Terry

ha ha ...I completly forgot about these pictures ...we went to an Easter egg hunt the week befor Easter and the kids were playing with those plastic eggs when we got home , they wanted me to play with them so I grabed two ends of two eggs, a rubber band and a knife...I cut out the holes, stapled the gubber band and grabed the tape. They played with this thing for 3 hours.
