Yes, it's killer and it kills 'me' every time I put it back into production. Seriously...anyway I dont build cars as much as I'd love to one day give it a whirl...but for now I enjoy seeing what all you pro's do and I watch, admire...get teary eye'd. You know...that sort of thing.
Now...onto this jacket...I figure you guys all have the cool cars...right? So why not the cool jacket?
I could even consider doing red pin striping here and there to mimic a '66 car design...actually...hmmmmmmm.
Ok, enough blabbing...
A few years ago I designed this incredible jacket (yes, I said Incredible) with the specific intent to bridge the gap between 'everyday wearable garments' and 'the costuming world'.
I wanted a superhero style jacket that would be cool to wear for every day use, be that on a bike, going shopping or just something different to stand out with and at the same time appeal to the costuming circuit..and to possibly be customized as any owner saw fit. Something that both worlds would find appealing...that's where the Mutant Jacket was born from.
The amount of research and engineering that went into the Mutant Jacket was overwhelming but the end result was a true joy to see and wear.
Take note of the unique yet functional biceps and triceps armor. An engineering nightmare, but a beautiful added detail none the less.
Intelligently Ventilated so none of the visible details are compromised....
Front.
Back.
Detail abdomen close up...
-The jacket has 4 different types of leather finishes ranging from grain to no grain leather...gloss finish to suede details.
-It also features an elaborate combination of stretch leather to allow for optimum movement.
-The entire jacket is detailed with body armor-like elements that convey that aggressive yet subtle (yes, contradiction of terms I know) superhero look.
-The shoulders are equally unique as they're shaped and contoured to form around the wearers shoulders.
-The forearms are designed to look as if a 'gauntlet' is present. This allows for a simple short hand glove to help complete the illusion of a fully gloved arm.
-The design of the back flows easily and ties in beautifully with the entire jacket.
Motorcyclists: The body armor elements seen are rigid and can absorb some impact. This however does not mean you should use it instead of certified body armor for your specific purpose. This garment is not a certified 'safe' body armor.
Furthermore:
*This item is NOT a modified off the shelf jacket. It is custom made from the ground up*
I'm now ready to start taking pre orders for this item and am doing so at a special 'Limited Quantity' offer of $649.00 USD + Shipping.
There is a plan to introduce this garment to a popular retail chain so get in on this now at this special Limited Quantity Offer.
This Garment will be offered in Standard American Sizes and you will need to use my size chart to determine your desired fit. Do NOT purchase this garment assuming a 'usual' size will fit you because that is NOT how I size my garments.
To order your Mutant Jacket go to www.universaldesigns.ca and hit the top corner banner that reads "Official UD Merchandise" and it'll take you directly to the page.
It's a direct link with prices, shipping quotes, size chart and paypal.
For more information please email me at dpea(at)fcibroadband(dot)com and be sure to put MUTANT JACKET in the title of the email.
NO PM's Please.
I'm expecting to take pre-orders for the next 4 weeks. November 15th is the cut off date to which I then go into production. I'm expecting approximately 10 weeks to produce and deliver the finished goods.
This is an official Universal Designs Product.

I have done business with David many times in the past and let me say everything I have received from him has been flawless and the best representation of the original items that were made. I received everything in a timely manner and it was a pleasure doing business with David. I still own every piece I have received from him in the past and each one still looks as good as when I purchased it.

Hey guys.
Thanks for the very kind words. I really appreciate the support particularly when it comes from a group of guys that I admire and respect so much as yourselves.
I havent responded to anyone yet because we're just finishing the 'order page' for this item on my website. I'm hoping to have it uploaded by this evening at the latest. It's just going to be so much easier for me (and especially you guys) to just order this through my website. All available details will be there from the size chart to shipping fee's.
We're almost ready with it...and then I'll email everyone the link to it.
Please sit tight, and thanks again for all the support. I hold you guys in highest respect because in a much smaller way I know what goes into making things from scratch...the highs, the lows...working with materials, solvents...the joys of success and the frustration associated with possible failures. I'm there in a much smaller way every single day so I tip my hat to you all....and am humbled by the thought of anyone showing any interest in this stuff that I do.
Details will be ready shortly.
David
