This might sound like a stupid question, but (in reference to the 3D CAD file you mentioned posting) I can't find the "Members Area" anywhere. I have Solidworks, AutoCAD, TurboCAD, Rhino, and a bunch of other 3D design programs (mostly geared towards construction, since I'm a general contractor). I want to build a street-legal version of the Tumbler, with better visibility and a few aesthetic modifications. (I don't like the side view of the original design, for instance... it looks anorexic, especially compared to any other view.) My version might not end up being 100% accurate to the film's version, but I'll be able to drive it. And it'll be my own. MUCH congrats on everyone's posts here! I've designed everything from VTOL jet aircraft, ultralight helicopters, sports car bodies and interiors, submersible ROVs, small weapons systems, etc. And I'm very impressed with what I see here! Top notch work!

Thanks for checking out my build, the member's area is at the bottom of the forum, its kinda small. Member's gain access to it once we see some build work, and their post count is decent. This helps us weed out the serious guys from the once who are just impressed with the car. Speaking of which i needa reload the file onto rapidshare so it can be downloaded again.
Again thanks for checking my build out. I hope to get back on it soon. Haven't worked on it since JULY 4TH WEEKEND! Sad sad sad.

So a long overdue update. Ive recently gotten my laptop back up and running, so I thought I would share. I'm currently working on unfolding all the templates for the black tumbler, and the camo tumbler from Batman Begins. After I'm sure there are no problems with those templates, I will move on to the newest 2 Batmobiles from The Dark Knight Rises. Here is just a preview. These models WILL BE RELEASED TO THE BOARD, and the Templates will be available too, both for a fee this time.
The paper model is my test subject for all the flattened templates. created in 1/6th scale, about 30 inches long, 20 inches wide.
Hope to have more soon, not home very often now that I'm a trucker, but eh, what can ya do.

I am trying to make a TDK costume and 1/2 tumbler for my son (in time for Halloween). I am using a paper template, but it is not very accurate. I just found this forum and I am very excited what others are doing. I was hoping to get some help from people who have done it to give me advice and help. I started out using cardboard and later add fiber glass & bondo. But seeing what Shaggy had done with wood and his template got me to think I should start over and do it better.
