guys i havent posted anything progressive in a while, been busy with a whole bunch of Bat stuff. I'll post more just as soon as i get a chance. Heres a peek at what i've been working on. Its a program that is taking any 3d model i create and making flattened templates out of everything drawn. Its much more accurate, and faster than me trying to draw it all by hand. Its a program called Pepakura.

Hey Shaggy, Fantastic work, I have to say! Both on the paper model and this CG rendering. Wish I learn to do this years ago! I will use your works when I have some free time to add details to my Hot Toy model and hopefully, a larger version I plan to build. Many thanks for sharing your hard works there! H

Thanks Hudson, last night i created a rib insert to go between the cabin and the outer panels. this will not only help with lining things up, but it helps deduce the degree of angle the parts need to be bent. This was a flaw on my previous set of templates that i have now corrected. It takes out almost 70% of the guess work in building this machine.
Here is a shot. Simple simple.

My wife last night told me that we should go ahead and start a 1/3rd build out of paper just for fun. it would be larger than my 1/6, and would give us something to do in our spare time. Tire templates as well.

I believe that rib, is what I'm using in the micro tumbler as the second layer of the frame. It basically runs along the outside directly under where the gas caps go. (Sloping up from front to rear...)
Is that where you are talking about?
For me it also strengthens that area to use as a step.

Well, that rib that you see (that has no lines depicting its edges) was something that i came up with since my first set of templates and 3D model didnt have such an item on it. So when you place alot of the panels on the outside of the cabin they mostly free floated, there were no stated attachment area's.
When i made my paper model, even I myself wasnt sure where parts went, how much to bend the angles, etc. Well this rib takes out both of those guesses, and makes sure that bot the left and right side are mirror images to one another.
I just finished flattening the last of the 3d parts for the Tumbler on New Years Day. Sadly im having problems with my 3D model of my '89 Batmobile. And since my laptop crashed last weekend, the only copy of my '89 batmobile is the one i have here. That makes me a very unhappy camper.

Sorry to hear about your computer problem! My computer exploded on me just 3 weeks ago. In the past decade, this happened 3 times since, darnit! H

Thanks DH, i think i got it right this time. as soon as i get it all together i'll go back and clean up the connections, and sharpen the angles.
