Sure do, will be posting some very soon. I am almost done with my 89, and will be redoing the 66 Batboat next. It was built by Mark Towle and is in need of a complete rebuild. Then on to my 66 Batmobile.

Hey everyone, I'm back. Just a quick update, I have been working on the body getting it ready for paint. Wow what a job, just undoing the body work if thats what you want to call it that Mark Towle did. Plus I have had to completely remount the body just to square it up. No more of those trade mark dips in the top or front end that are trade mark imperfection of a Towle body. I have no idea how many hours I have in body work alone but it has to be close to 400+. I am not just fixing with Bondo, I have been using glass with minimum use of a fiberglass filler mainly to remove larger scratches. It has been a lot harder than originally thought, but when done it is going to look right. By the way if any one is interested I have 2 sets of 4 alum. wheel bat that are 1 1/4" thick and are a perfect screen match to the originals. They need drilled and tapped but they were cut with a water jet and really turned out nice. I painted mine and only had to do a light sanding to get them ready for paint.

Here is a photo of my wheel with the base color coat. I have a custom finish coat to be applied however the gold will still show to some extent. The front turbine shown previously in this build log which is also painted gold will get the same final coat. I hope it turns out as well as the test seem to indicate.

OK here are some photots of the test fit of my interior. The car came without any interior and I am glad it did knowing the quality of everything else Mark Towle built on this car. In fact there is nothing left of his original build. After almost 2 years I have managed to undo and rebuild everything he did. And yes I know it looks like crap now, but I have an interior guy that is an artist and this baby will look really nice when he is done working his leather magic. It is going to cost a few bucks, but it is something a pro needs to do. In fact it will be the only part of this build that I am having someone else do. Well kind of, I do have borrow a friends paint booth soon and he is mixing the custom final paint coat for all of the gold and other shiny stuff. The body itself will be a matt black with several custom mixed matt clear coats.

Wow Dane nice work. Did you do all the interior yourself cause it looks brilliant? Now will you forgo the lettering on the panels or can that be done with decals or something else? I would still like to see you get correct shifter after all that hard work getting everything spot on. Do you have any reservation about using your fiberglass center caps or did you?  I mean do you think they will hold up? I see Jack went with the aluminum ones. Did you get your canopy to work proper, If not follow Rusty's lead for ease and durability, that is if you have any clearance issues . If you have the LT1 Your motor should sit low enough to go with Kevins style.Outstanding Job Dane you should feel very proud of yourself.

Hey Nitro, yes I am going to letter/number the panel. I found some rub on decals meant for model building. The can be clear coated after applying. I want to use the correct shifter, the one in the photo I made just to see how close I could get and still use the stck shifter. I did do all of the work on the interior and it looks a lot better than the photos show. I am looking forward to getting all done in leather. I used the fiberglass center hubs as I do not plan on driving this car much. I am building my 66 to be a "daily" driver and because of other issues driving the 89 for any distance just is not in the cards. Right now I am body fitting the canopy which is a job in itself. A lot of glassing to get it to fit properly. I have a track system designed and my rough mock up seems to work pretty good. Building an 89 is a slow process when you do all of the work by yourself, but man is it worth it. I am working in a 2 car garage with the front clip off as it is to long to fit in my garage otherwise so space is tight. It is a split 2 car garage with a center wall so one side is basically set up as the shop side. Photo shows just how tight it is. This is one big @$$ car
