Update: Ok i went on Ebay today just curious of they had anything worth bidding on and i happen to find a set of AR-39 American Racing wheels just like i had on my 72 Camaro. And they just so happen to be the bolt patturn that i need. So i placed a bid and I pray that i win, it would make my wife so happy to see those wheels back on the Camaro. Special Thanks to The Toy Collector and Big Wave Dave for telling me the name of the wheels so that i could find them in the first place. Wish me luck, the bid ends on the 16th.

Ok, i lost the bid, it someone bid $2.50 before the bid ended. But its all good. The ones i bid on were for $100 bucks, and came with a set of tires already mounted, with 60% tread left on them, 15 x 7.
BUT I found another set of wheels (these being WITHOUT tires, and a 14 X 7, the finish peeled off, but still looks good, Camaro Bolt Patturn) for $77 OR buy them now for $175, I discussed it with my wife and she said go ahead and buy them now, so i purchased them for the $175, they said they arrive in 1 business day, UPS, so im assuming a will get them next week sometime.
Total Cost $230 and some change.
I'm hella happy and my wife is TOTALLY excited to see that car walkin' in its old shoes again.

Ok after 6 months worth of weekends, cold weather, and hard labor, i FINALLY get to drive my GMC home. I've been having to wait until the weekend to work on my truck because its stationed about 60 miles south of where I live. Why didnt i just pull it up to where I live? Because i had to install an engine, and the landlord of our apartment doesnt like things to look all "rednecky" around the house. Anywho, the truck lacks a rag joint, turn signal switch, and a heater core, and its finished. Total Cost.... Less than $1,000 , with the peace of mind that the truck is sound in all sections....cuz i put it there . I dont have any updated pictures, but this is the truck im talking about. I painted it up differently....just cuz i wanted to. It has a rattle can special, nothing fancy. Something like this is what i was shooting for, i will post pictures of the actual truck just as soon as i can get them. The bottom two pictures (of the heart and the red on black) are where i had my idea's start from. The heart was on my friends Myspace page, and i thought it looked pretty cool, so i took that heart and played around, added barb wire around the edges, and threw id down the side of my truck, and this is what i got.

Well i had a VERY productive weekend, didnt get as much done as i had hoped, but you cant win them all i guess. I started the restoration of my '72 Camaro. The neat thing is, it took no time to:
Pull it up a hill with no brakes,
put it up on blocks, disassemble the interior, the truck, the lights, the front clip, the engine, transmission, wire harness, A/C unit. I had it all done in about 4 hours.

After the front clip was removed....
I then proceeded to undo the engine so i could get Conrad the measurements i promised him. That was my ENTIRE goal for this weekend.
So after i got the engine out, i decided, what the hey, ill undo the brake lines, steering connections, fuel lines, and pull the whole frame out from under the car.
I did so and borrowed my dads hot water pressure washer and sprayed 30 years worth of gunk and dirt off of it
I will paint it next weekend, but for now i think i will just haul it around for a week. JUST BECAUSE i ran out of time Sunday afternoon to take it back to the place it was sitting, and offload it. (HEY its heavy!!)
Heres a picture of the truck that i painted. I showed you the computer rendering i made of it earlier. This is my A-B truck, i think it turned out pretty well to be just spray can paint.
My wife built the engine that i run in it. It runs like a dream! THE ONLY problem with it is there is ONE lifter that will not prime up and we didnt know it was bad, so it has a single "tap tap tap" noise that is somewhat faint.
Here is the interior of the camaro. The last two pictures are of the front seat floorboards, there are holes big enough to stick my fist thru, but you can hardly tell from the pictures provided. . I cant decide if i want to just fiberglass the floorboard, or buy floor pans and tack them back in.
Here is my wife's truck so far, we just sprayed it randomly with some cheap cans of black spray paint just to have a lil fun. She was VERY enthused with the results. OH and i bought her that bed for her truck too! $200 bucks at Pull-a-Part, its really weird to see that step side short wheel base bed loaded up inside the fleetside short wheel base bed of my truck! (i had to get it home somehow lol)
Here is her engine she is building. Its a stock 350 block, 2 bolt main. It will be destroked to a 327's range, with a 292 Hydro lifter cam, Edelbrock aluminum intake, Billet distributor, and clear distributor cap. Nothing TOO fancy, and BY NO MEANS a powerhouse. Just something for fun.
And to finish my update off with the BEST picture of all, my wife!
I hope to have more updates REAL soon, thanks for viewing!

YEP! I just couldnt wait lol. Honestly i really dont have an EXACT date when i want to be done. Considering i dont have much cash to spare, i work on it when i can. $10 bucks here, $20 there, and when it gets done, its done. It took me about 5 months worth of weekends to finish up my black and red GMC. So I figure it will take me about twice that long to finish up this project. The major difference is that there are alot more expensive parts to be bought for the Camaro than the GMC. My wife is due in July (the 8th) but we are going to try to induce labor on the 4th so he/she will be born on her grandpa's b'day.

what happened to the days when you could buy one of those things made out of COMPLETE metal? Use to be able to ride in the back of one of those things while flying down a hill, but not anymore . i like the picture, shaved tailgait, relocated rear handle. and a big Tonka symbol lol. Rock on! I cant wait to get started on my own "tonka truck"
